I’m looking for advise on Yamaha boats. I am new to boats, as in I’ve never owned my own. Hubs and I have decided that a Yamaha seems to be what we are most interested in for we love the back area that allows such easy access for water sports! We have 3 boys who are young, but I know they will want to explore all areas of water sports!
Being novice, we looked at a prior owned 2007 Yamaha AR230 today, which my husband got to drive on the lake as well. I’m wondering if there are options I should be considering long term, that I might not be aware of.
Any advice or year recommendation? I’ll take any suggestions on my search!
Thank you!

What did you guys think of the AR230?

We have an 08 AR230 that we love. BUT, make sure you really look at everything thoroughly if you’re going to buy used, for example: checking oil before and after on the water making sure it’s not milky, checking intake grates/wear rings/impellers while on trailer to see if there’s any rubbing/chips/abnormal wear, being able to pull the clean out plugs and replacing easily, making sure the bilge actually works, making sure all gauges/switches work, and probably some other things I’m missing.. With that many kids I would definitely recommend getting 23ft or bigger because they will want to bring friends and will only get bigger. So far our AR230 has taken on a couple large lakes with some big wakes very well so we are happy we went with the 230. As you’ll see, we are all very good at helping you spend money so this is your fair warning. ??
