That is real interesting but going back to my time working in refineries. Electrical equipment had to be intrinsically safe and rated for use in NEC Class I Div. I areas. That is it had to be built in such a manner that it did not emit any sparks or otherwise so it could ignite something flammable. These rating are developed by NEC (National Elec. Code).

Not to put this device down, but I looked at it (on Amazon and did not research thoroughly) But I do not see anything about the ability to arrest any sparks from the batteries. It looks like a simple battery cover like any toy might have. Not to mention, is the other electronics in this thing protected too. If so, this would would never be able to go near a refinery or in any flammable environment. Be careful with this thing as it could be troublesome.

Cool device but... Just take a closer look before jumping that's all.

@javi, are you upgrading boats before the trip or planning to bring your LS2000?

In 2014 @Tyler and four of his closest friends made the trip in a LX210 which is a LS2000 with a swim deck. They traveled separately from the group due to scheduling conflicts. They had smooth water and made it to Bimini fine. They had a rough and unpleasant trip back and called for a tow when they experienced mechanical trouble in rough water. In addition to their supplies they had to carry a large amount of extra fuel and all of their two stroke oil for the trip.

My family enjoyed a LX210 for a year and took her out into the Gulf of Mexico several times. She was a great boat. I miss her acceleration and cornering. But there is no way that she could have made the crossing to Bimini in 2015. The flatter hull increases the felt impact of crossing waves, the lower freeboard makes it easier to take on water and the lack of windshield fills your eyes with salt water. We have been there, put our scuba masks on so we could see then turned around and returned to the harbor.

I never been there. I think the jet ski club I used to ride with did that. . I live in kissimmee but I travel everywhere. .

Welcome Aboard @David Short. Does your 230 have HO engines? It is fine either way but I want to check the likely fuel consumption if you do not.

Welcome at @tim h there is tons of info on how to be prepared for this trip as you go back through this thread. Make sure to get the t-shirts for your crew. I just hope your boat can keep up with the pace with all those people one board . Glad to see your coming man!

Yea that was thru Allstate. But I'm going to go with Boat US. They dropped $200 if I get towing with them. Haven't given up yet. I'm trying my hardest to go. But the numbers are getting up there.

I have State Farm and for additional coverage on my boat for total loss of $65,000, it's only $45 a month added to my motorcycle insurance bill?
