Hello all,

I recently acquired two 2005 Yamaha FX Cruisers both with less than 100 engine hours, however one of them has a hole in the engine. They appear to come with the MR1 Engines. I am new to this world, even as I have mechanical background in car/truck/heavy equipment engines. I am tempted to to swap the damaged engine myself... what do I need to know? (Where to purchase replacement engine, rebuilt or not, fitment, HO vs non-HO... etc.)

Any counsel is greatly appreciated.

I have done this on our SX230, one engine I got from a donor ski and for the other one I bought a rebuilt from SBT. The ECM is specific for either a HO or non HO so you need to replace the engine with the same displacement engine.
