Pulled the boat yesterday for the season ... reason ... gettin' freazin'...

found this rubber ring wedged in the rubber valve thingy at the port side of the jet cutout.

I have looked thru service manual to identify what that opening is ... and umm... I kinda give up..

wondering how critical this silicone bead is / was to the vessel.

Is it the exhaust exit?... if so, I can replace that seal or, if making the the 2 hour trip to the dealer, I get them to do it.P9097014.jpg P9097017.jpg

we had a few posts about people finding those. it is just excess silicone from the exhaust seal that has finally worked it way off. No one has ever reported a problem after finding this, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you for your quick responses... @Scottintexas, thanks for the video reference.

It kinda look like an extruded bit, not an applied bead...

It's been reported several times over the years. It looks to me like they applied the sealant to where the exhaust exits the hull and the rubber exhaust flapper. Then they tightened down the joint which in turn squeezed out some excess sealant. After a while it just breaks off and gets expelled out the exhaust.
