Hello everyone,

Just got a quote for doing my ar192 with 18% tint all the way around for $500. My first reaction was that is extremely high for tint... Anyone already do theirs?? Or have any insight?? Thanks

I paid a couple hundred bucks. Several members have DIY tint that looks great. Hopefully they will chime in if you are leaning that way. Five is too much.

I paid $150, but the guy said he would never do another boat. The curve is pretty hard to get right.

I tint all my cars and its makes such a huge difference. Actually makes the car. On boats for some reason, I've never been a fan, not sure why it doesn't translate for me.

I love my tint, I paid $120.
There are a couple threads on here where some did their own and turned out good.

I did the cling on ( i will try to find a link to it) but I have since removed it. It was not THAT hard to do, but it didn't look the best up close. The cling on stuff is rather thick and it was tough to cut in a few spots and it didn't just didn't look right (jagged) I liked the look from a distance but up close my desire for perfection kicked in. The last straw was when I came to the slip one afternoon, pulled the cover off and one piece had gotten so hot it came off and was laying on the dash. I did all I could to try to put it back on, but in the end said "F" it and pulled it all off. One of the other contributing factors was that it just doesn't "see" well compared to the real tint. It was not easy to look through, even the 35% stuff. It's hard to explain but the thickness made it hazy like. Nothing like the tint I have on my vehicles. It was cheap and definitely gave the boat a nice look, just wasn't functional.

Edit: There is a distance pic of mine in the thread posted above. Its on the next to last page. Again, looked great from a distance but I am a perfectionist and I wasn't happy with it up close. And once a piece came off, that was it....

I only found a few places here in Michigan that would touch it. I guess the tight corner is a real pain. costing my just under $400, getting done now. I just called to check on it and it's taking longer than expected because that corner is so hard to fit. I think the tinted windows look awesome on the boats, not to mention a little more privacy when parking at Sand Bar...and little less glare on my phone since I have it mounted up under the windshield, excited to get it done and see it live today.

MY buddy did mine last year for 250 and I went with 5percent and love it but he did tell me he wouldn't do it again

Local dealership did mine for $239 and pulled the glass so that it was flawless.

Window tint complete, I think it looks pretty awesome!!! Very happy I went ahead and got this done.

Did they pull the panels? Any issues with the re-install?
It looks fantastic, what is the tint % you used?

I did mine myself. My cost was around $50. You can tell I did mine myself when viewing from about 12 inches or so. After 12" away, you can not really tell. I am glad I did it and I love the look.

They didn't pull panels, but did a great job. I can't tell it was trimmed at all. I think it was 20% I used? It's not Limo black but the next closest.

I went with 5%. Cost was about $350. Apparently the curve drives the price.

Be advised, there are times I have to look over the top to see what's off the port bow...no joke.

In any case...glad we did it.
