My name is Jody Harrison and I live in Warrior, AL which is located in North Central Alabama. I boat primarily on Smith Lake.

I had been researching Jet Boats for about 6 months before I decided to buy the one I have now. I have known ZERO about this type of boat but the more I read about them the more I liked them. I grew up on outboards, have had stern drives, and am anxious to learn more about jet drives which I am getting a thorough education on.

I ended up buying from a dealer in Macon, GA. but the boat was from Santa Rosa, FL. so it has a bit of saltwater neglect going on. I just don't get how folks can spend the money these things cost and don't take care of them. The boat has ended up having more wrong with it than I expected, combined with my ignorance of Jet Boats it has turned into a bit more of a project than I was expecting but its all good. I'm still not having buyers remorse yet.

So anyway, thank you all for a great forum. It is amazing at the amount of information that has been posted here. I look forward to many hours reading and looking through more posts and hope one day I can give back to the community.

Thanks again,
Jody

glad to have you on board,

a couple of items for you,

watch this video from our member buckbuck, it will give you a good idea of the cooling water

since it was in salt water, at least pull your thermostat and engine anode and check it's condition, the internal cooling passages can get obstructed if not flushed well,

check you scupper valve, if you still have a plastic one consider replacing it asap, they are known to crack and allow water into the the hull

be careful with spark plug #3 it's been known to get seized and break upon attempted removal, proceed with caution,

buy a YDS unit so you can read the engines hours and monitor their real time activity,
