With the stepped hull and stock bow roller, that is super hard plastic the alignment from the factory seems off the amount of force on the bells is is not evenly distributed to the center roller. Looked like the solution was to buy the Stolz RP355 3 1/2'' center roller and RP34 bells . This looks like the solution for other models and may work with some winch adjustments that I may try. In the pictures the winch looks misaligned with the bow eye the strap has a massive load on the small cross bolt . At some point it looks like the bolt was in hole 3 , one would be the top and at hole 4 it looks like another bolt position that could be an in between incremental adjustment. Has anyone moved the winch location in relation to the 4 holes. Has anyone had the parts come in the extreme die lot variation this was ordered on flea bay as the Yamaha stolz roller

I think your roller is exactly where you want it. I wish there was a way to install one of those gator shields, but there is none with the step.
The roller needs to be over the bow eye/U-bolt, as it is the only thing that stops the boat from moving forward when, for example, hard breaking. If U-bolt sat on top (of the roller) the bow might pop up on hard stop and dig into the winch.

fyi, I found the Shorelander manual for this trailer.
Per shorelander the winch strap should be straight horizontal to the bow eye cleat.
The roller should be located directly in contact to but above the cleat.

edit here is the link. The entire process is how to setup your trailer. https://www.shorelandr.com/pages/pf_trstep4.htm
