So picked up a 2017 AR240 tonight with the help of @ACrews, so a couple quick question.

1. My old boat sat a few inches past the end of the bunks this one is sitting a few inches forward the ends of the rear bunks so it feels a little far forward to me should I slide the bow roller back a few inches?

2. I noticed above the helm door it says fire extinguisher but I don't see it or a rack for it any where am I missing it somewhere or do i need to call the dealer Monday and get one?

3.There has to be an easier way then I what did it to get that Bimini top back in the boot is there a video on how to do that anywhere?

4.My anchor locker looks good compared to what I have seen on here I was think of putting the little metal vent of over the anchor locker drain to prevent water from coming but still letting it drain has anyone else done this?

5. Will the small box anchor fit in the slot in the anchor locker is so what did you use on the bottom to prevent banging and how did you secure it to stay in that slot?

Believe it or not, they dont come with a fire extinguisher....but if you talk to the dealer he should get you one....mine did. There are 2 fire extinguisher points...one at the helm door and one in the engine compartment. There are no mounts in either place. I mounted my in the battery compartment, but there is no requirement as to where it has to be (in Texas anyway), just that you have one readily accessible. Cant help you with much else.....I have not had any problem with water coming into the anchor locker drain. Congrats on the new boat....you will love it!!!

I'll try-

1 - I wouldn't do nothing until you launch/retrieve it. Even then, a little extra bunk does nothing but make it easier to get in the boat on the trailer

2 - Almost certain they don't come with, you gotta buy one.

3 - It gets easier over time. They suck.

4 - I haven't. :p

5 - No. I wrapped mine and sat it on top of a bunch of those dumb orange life vests.

1. I had to move mine back about 8 inches. It was way to forward and had excessive tongue weight.

3. I use a velcro strap to wrap around the top to hold it together while i easily put boot over it and zip it

Does your over hang the bunks a little at the back now? I feel the same it feels tilted forward on the trailer like there is to much weight at the front. Plus I cant get the tail gate of my SUV up with the boat on so that sucks lol. Love the Velcro idea that will work well thanks!

2. I agree you have to buy one and that there are no holders for them. However when you buy (or get one from the dealer), they often come with a hanger. I found that in the aft port seat, I was able to unscrew one or two of the bolts for the table leg holder and could attach the extinguisher holder there. In the helm compartment, I did the same thing, using one of the existing bolts and then drilling another hole into the fiberglass next to it (which is all rough, so no problems). I added a third CO2 extinguisher to the helm compartment (they are heavier, so it hangs with a removable ziptie around the bottom), because that is actually the type you are supposed to use in the extinguisher port for the engine (if you use chemical there, it shoots the chemical between the engines--which is usually where the fire ain't, but CO2 chokes the fire in the entire compartment).

5. I got some heavy-duty workshop mat from Lowe's and cut it up and put it in there for my small box anchor. Seems to have worked so far. I ultimately wound up removing the ladder so I can get it in and out better, but I had it in there with the ladder and it works. Now, sometimes you have to work a little to move it the right way to get it in/out...

Mine just has two bolts at the bottom if I loosen them it should slide back then re tighten the bolts.

Congrats!.

1. Yes slide the bow rler back AND replace it with a stoltz. If your bunks are exposed behind the boat they will gets tiny bits of sand and road debris lodged in the carpet that will scratch the a good length of your hull when launching. I recommend cleaning that spot right before launching and fixing. The bunk carpet is also low grade. Boatmate makes much better carpet. Have your read about the tire, fender, and lack of grease issues on the shorelandr trailers?

2. The mounts come with the extinguishers. My dealer mounted two before I picked it up as part of dealer prep (which my dealer did not even charge for. I think that the dealer is supposed to install at least one as part of Yamaha's requirments for dealer prep just like they have to install the batteries.

3. If it is windy it will suck. It will also get easier with time. I plan on trying the velcro thing.

4. The hood on the outside is a great idea. I will have to try that. Are you thinking about a SS wire port? Do you have a link?

5. No idea. My dealer included the Yamaha anchor kit and it has worked well for me so far.

6. There are lots of mods that you can do. I think @swatski has done almost all of them.

Don't forget to update your profile.

Congratulations on the new boat!!! I had another question about these new boats. When pulling up to a beach or anchoring location with motors on, we have the the radio playing. But as soon as I turn the motors off the radio stops too. Is there a method to not interrupt the radio while shutting down the Motors?

Good question. I've noticed the same thing and it's annoying. Only way around it I have found is to turn on the blower while the engines are still running. Then shut off engines and turn one key back to the on position, and then shut off the blower. Maybe someone else has found a batter way?

@ThatJeepGuy, yup, that's how they work. The easiest way to keep the tunes playing is that when you turn off the first motor, turn the key to the accessory (first notch) setting before turning the second motor off. I wouldn't bother using the blower switch because I don't like hearing the blower while I'm listening to music. If you forget to do the key trick, and your tunes stop, the most convenient way to turn them back on is to press any of the buttons at the bottom of the Connext screen which will power up the Connext/music.

Congrats on your new boat @robert843
I've been using two velcro straps as "extra hands" when installing the bimini boot. Works well.
Can you post some pics of your new boat? Also, I'd love to see a pic of your anchor locker drain, from the inside of your anchor locker. I'm curious as to whether the fix has found its way onto the dealership lots.
How many boats do you have now?

I moved the boat easy took the tools with me to the ramp. Losened the strap to the length I guestimated was needed then backed down the ramp with a slight jerk at once it started to float. Pulled to the parking area and losened bolts and slid bow assembly back.

Yup.... an added benifit it will come off trailer easier because it's further rearward. On a boat of this size there shouldn't be so much excessive tongue weight.

@Neutron that really is a major move. I think I really like it, albeit I may need to confirm this is still in the range (for the tongue weight formula).
Thank you for posting on this w/pics, this is the first on those trailers, I think!

Or, use @captras trick: press the Sys button in Connext. It also works w/everything off but House Battery switch on.

(there is not way to turn it off though, just need to turn the House Bat switch off or go through the whole start sequence)
