I want to install a Garmin Striker 4 on my 2019 Yamaha SX190. Does anyone know how to install the through transom cable cover, or if there is an alternative way to route the cable without drilling a hole? Any tips for this install would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you set on putting the transducer out of the boat? I have that unit on my 2012, and glued the transducer to the hull in the engine compartment. Works great and no holes.

I do like that idea. Do you get readings at all speeds? I'm going to mount the transducer to a stern saver pad.

(and btw, drilling the holes is not that bad. for screws, drill the hole, put some 4200 on the screw, and screw it in. similar for wire holes; drill, run the wire, and goop it up with 4200. never had an issue yet... which seems like it should not be the case, I know.)

I’ve never had an issue with getting a good reading, but I boat in a pretty shallow lake too, usually never in more than 15’ of water. I don’t use it for the fish reading either. For me, it’s for depth and gps speed.
