What's faster? Snaps or Mooring cover?

I tow with my snap covers as well. On long trips, especially with a lot of highway you may want to tape down the leading edge so the wind doesn't catch it, but I've never had an issue

    Polk or Infinity replacement speakers?

Look up Earmark Marine online and talk with Odin. He'll get you setup with the right equipment. Now on to subs...

What's faster? Snaps or Mooring cover?

The snap covers are nice when you get caught in that quick pop up rain storm in the summer. Put the bow cover on, close the windshield and you have some shelter for the youngins. Then (in my case) throw the camper encluosure up and we stay nice and dry to ride it out.

What's faster? Snaps or Mooring cover?

I like my snap covers and get get them all snapped pretty quickly. I only use the mooring cover for winter storage now.

    Polk or Infinity replacement speakers?

Can't really go wrong either way, but I like Polk better. They seem to have a better overall sound (to my ear) than the Infinity speakers. Infinity always sound very tinny (sp?) to me...

    Hinged seat for cooler access

Could you put a two way hinge (for lack of a better term)? I'm thinking a hinge that would first allow a small rise in the inside of the cusion to allow the cushion to then slide toward you a couple inches to get clear of the backrest. Then you could open the seat by pulling it toward you...

    possible towers

If it were me, I'd stay away from the universal towers. I've been told their joints are points to constantly retighten and they shake more than custom ones. You can get a Samson tower loaded with everything for not much more, and they build it solid to your specs. They'll discount packages...

Thinking about a new tow vehicle

M6 6.2 Yukon Denali would pull the boat and get in the 12-14 range up to 75. My boat is closer to 8K to pull though. I just bought a 2014 F250 but haven't had the chance to pull with it yet.

Can JL Audio MX650 speakers be driven at 2 Ohms?

If you're planning to run a sub anyway (at some point), I'd do a 500/3 instead. Still gives you 100 watts for each 650, plus 300 watts for a sub

    Cost of your boat "shed"?

I built a 30x40 boat barn at the lake house. 2-12x12 doors, one 9x9 door on the back, 14' walls for 17,500. All metal and all hired out. Concrete will be next year once it all settles in a bit that'll add another $3,000 or so.

    undecided on jet or prop

I like my props. I like being able to trim based on the water conditions, chop, etc. The heavier boat also rides like a dream in stuff that I'd have to slow down or carefully plan to drive thru so I don't slam down. I also have trim tabs (which you can add to any boat) that help as well...
