    How many use Dock Whips?

Yes, I have used them for 10+ years without problems, but I did not use my spring line this year and got bad whip rash. I see on your pic that you use a spring line to the center cleat; don't get lazy like I did!

"On the road" hub replacement kit for Shorelandr trailer

My 2013 has a YAV50TCBLW Shorelander trailer, which doesn't show up on the Shorelander site. But, I think the basic specs are this: https://www.shorelandr.com/pages/t_specs.aspx?type=boat&productID=4545 I hope this helps.

Towing with Bow and Cockpit cover?

We always tow with the bow and cockpit covers on. I did it for 10 years with a Four Winns deck boat, and now for 3 years with my Yamaha, poles installed. 73 mph is the fastest I'll go towing, and usually slower. The longest trip so far has been under 100 miles each way, so the distance hasn't...

    boat cover

Can I ask how much you paid? My bow and cockpit cover set is showing its' age after 3 seasons, and I would like to get Sunbrella replacements made. The fabric is a couple of bucks more per yard than the factory stuff, and well worth it.

    Battery poles reversed

I have seen polarity reversal on AA batteries twice in the last few months in a small battery powered weather station display. Freaked me the F out! I can imagine how you felt when this happened with 12V and 500+ amps! Glad there wasn't more damage.

    Clarion CMD6 head-unit - 6 speakers on internal amp

Mine (and a bunch of others per a 'popping' problem thread on the other site) came with the CMD 7. Sorry I didn't answer sooner.

Which propane tank should I use with a Magma Grill

We have a Magma Kettle that we have used with camping style canisters for 15+ years. I am sure from the discussion that they have been 232/290, and the regulator is seemingly fine after all that 'incorrect' use. I'm pretty sure it doesn't make a difference, but that is just my uninformed opinion.

    Yamaha New Boat Orientation....Interesting Commentary

I got the 'blower always on' advice 20+ years ago when we got our first I/O, we wet slip and shut both batteries off (but I can see the boat from my couch), and I add Startron at every fueling. We have used Nu-Finish for our vehicles and boats for 12-14 years; no complaints yet! I change the oil...

    Whats your Boats name?

So, I finally convinced my wife that the maintenance cost of our Four Winns had become unsustainable, and that we should look at the 24 foot Yamaha boats. We were on vacation on Winnepesaukee in NH and got a test drive lined up, not for the SX I thought we could afford but a Limited S, because...

Good uses for the anchor light hole, once you've moved your light to the tower?

Moving the nav white light to the tower meets USCG standards as long as it can bee seen from any angle.

    Oil on sparkplug

It looks like 5.9 ft-lb. The gasket has a section that wraps each spark plug opening, so this is probably the issue. Good luck!

    Oil on sparkplug

I'll look in the service manual tonight or tomorrow and post the torque values. Sorry in advance for the delay; previous obligations!

    Dealer service disappointing.......

I am sorry that the folks who had bad service got such a raw deal; my dealer in NH ( Irwin Marine) gave us fantastic service. The walk thru was very detailed, so much so that I got a little antsy, and the single time I brought the boat back for warranty service for a stereo issue they treated me...

Trailer jacks...I don't have great luck with them

I had one of these on my Four Winns trailer; it broke and 1 phone call got me a replacement in a few days. Pricey, but real nice! http://www.fultonperformance.com/products/trailer-jacks/marine-utility-jacks/f2-jacks-twin-wide-track/USX3uVM!Va4AT6niRTxzjAfep9MdieyQg!9b%7CKOy1dM=

Is this the result of a full tank of gas sitting in storage?

Differences in temperature can cause the volume to expand and contract; I have seen this in my boats often. I do get greater differences than you do in FL!

    Lake Winnipesaukee

I have used my combo unit as my primary depth finder as well as a gps, and someday when I mount the transducer into this boat I will again. With these displays, it will be nice to free one up from depth duty to fuel, or compass, or voltage, or.................
