Anyone know of a cheaper place to buy a Bimini cover/boot?

When you do get a new/repaired boot, wrapping the bimini with a dock line will help keep it tight to the poles while zipping the boot. I have to use this trick until my new custom boot is made for the new Sunbrella bimini we have now.

Moving boat around with lawn tractor

For easier maneuverability, it might be worth considering a front mounted receiver for your tow vehicle. It makes moving through obstacles (like huge oak trees!) very easy. The lot we store our boat on would be unusable without it.

    Yamaha Newbie

Coming from the Hurricane, one of the 24's might be worth a look. We went from a Four Winns 242 Fundeck to our 242; pretty seamless as far as elbow room. I think you will love any Yamaha though!

Custom designed flag holders for my bimini pole

Nice! Are the bimini poles screwed to the fittings so you can disconnect for installation?

New Trophy added to my collection

I still go to the old site regularly; I try to help with the info I've learned from all of you and on my own. I want to tell some of the folks there about this site, but I don't want to get kicked out. I learned a lot from the old site, and some of the archives there are pure gold.

What to do before dropping a new boat in the water

Quick check on the bilge pump.

    Magma Grill Mount

I used a kettle table leg mount from Magma for my old kettle; its out of the way on the side of the swim platform.

    Magma Grill Mount

Looks interesting, and it may have enough adjustment to work off of the bow rails.

    Magma Grill Mount

I have one; bought it years ago for our large kettle. I wasn't a fan because the nut/cap screw at the lower end of the grill had to be really tight to stop the grill from tipping, and seemed to loosen on its' own. Maybe I just have a bad one, and they aren't all like that.

    Warranty

@swatski, warranty or not? Are you sure? I've been kind of sweating this one, so I really hope you are right. No failure yet, but............

    Time for a Grill

Ha! I talked my dealer into 2 legs because the Yamaha site said '2 table mounts'. I think he figured out a way to charge me anyway, but it felt good at the time.

    Wiring an amp

Thanks @Mainah, you are one of the best techies on the forum. I try to follow all of your posts, but you are way more informed than I. Thanks again for the advice.

    Wiring an amp

Can I also hijack please? I'm intimidated with the speaker wiring with my Claion CMD7 and 6 Polk DBs w/tower tweeters, can I just put 2 4 channel amps in and be done?

When does your boating season end and begin

I put ours in in mid April, and we're out in early October before they pull the dam boards on Columbus Day. Of course, living on the lake helps, because I can continue the spring cleaning on the boat while its' on the dock. We would probably stay in until November if the boards weren't getting...

    It's over...

Costs about $10-15 per foot of wrap; they will use nylon/polyester strapping and wood supports as required and put the wrap over that. In the spring, a cut in the strapping used as a 'draw string' around the bottom edge of the wrap in the front and back is enough to loosen the wrap for removal...

    Shallow Water Mud Ingestion

We wet slip our boat on a very shallow lake; the deep end of our dock is 2 feet on a good day and stays less than 30" for another 100' into the lake. The jet allows me to come in under power (very slow!); when we had i/o's we had to install Troll N' Tabs electric motors to come in and go out...

Is this gap on my front trailer wheel normal?

I don't move it a lot, but a couple of inches of rolling freedom has saved me from re-backing my truck. I don't think it will move much at all with a plate. Maybe I need to get better at backing up to the trailer?

Good place for some medium strength threadlocker!

Low Water Woes (pics of low water levels on your waterways)

I feel your pain. I wet slip our boat and had to put a mooring 30' from the end of my dock and tie the back close to the dock's end. Even then, my wife had to be in the bow so we didn't hit bottom before we left the mooring. Crazy low!

    Attaching Porta Potty?

2 inch heavy duty Velcro as well. Easy enough to dump into the toilet as needed! I've had built in heads, and had to buy a Todd Waste Caddy to pump when I wasn't able to bring the boat to a pump out station. That is a pain!
