    In the ocean

When it gets rough, I throttle down and raise the bow to 'plow' the boat thru the waves. Not real fuel efficient but it calms the slamming (and my wife) and still gets us around. The boats are light, but that's part of what makes them so fun and fast!

I'll try to take some pics of the inside details tonight.

    Bimini Top

I had mine rebuilt when the camper canvas was done, using Sunbrella. The fabricator installed 5/6 snaps on the tower and rear support pole as well as zippers on both, and assures me that 70/75 mph will be no problem. Too bad it won't go that fast on the water!

Towed in a stranded boat yesterday

I have gotten into the habit of tying the boat that I am towing to the side of mine with fenders, although turning radii get huge I feel I have more control than when towing from the stern.

Has anyone used an auger anchor for mooring?

Maybe use unions and pre-drilled holes in unions and pipe sections, build to desired length and top with T fitting pre-drilled to match the drilled holes in the pipes, attach lanyards to the fittings with quick release pins from McMaster Carr?

Has anyone used an auger anchor for mooring?

Thanks. I'm a little worried about the long term holding power, but from what I can find it depends a lot on what material the lake/sea bottom is in each installation. Time will tell if mine is OK.

Has anyone used an auger anchor for mooring?

I started to go for a cruise Saturday to try out my new camper cover in the light rain. When I stepped onto the boat, it didn't move. The boat was sitting on the bottom! I had bought a 66" galvanized auger anchor to see if it might work as part of a 4 point tie-up for my dock, so I installed it...

    Old and Stupid

Well, if you want to hear stupid, how about pre-season this year I couldn't get the starboard engine to start. Went thru battery wiring, lanyard, checked the plug access deck locks, nothing. I unscrewed and removed the tray in the plug access compartment and dis-assembled the starboard safety...

SunSports in Fort Myers FL Worst Dealership ever ...Worst customer service and goes on

When I bought mine in 2013, I expected less than stellar service from Irwin Marine in Laconia NH, because my little $55K boat was nothing compared to their other lines, and they sell a lot of big boats. I was completely wrong! They have treated like their most important customer every time I...

Camper Tops For Our Boats Threaad

I finally got mine! I picked the boat up June 17th a day before my annual time share trip to Winnepesaukee in NH; today is the first day I needed to put it up! Man, do we need rain, my lake is down 6+ inches. The back of my boat on my dock is in 20 inches of water, so we load up, I walk the bow...

    Factory Tower speakers

Sorry, I don't. I may get a chance to measure in the next few days if @steined's method for removal works as slick as it sounds. My boat is on my dock in my front yard, but my normal 11+ hour work/commute day leaves me very little play time during the week!

    Factory Tower speakers

There is a nice write up by @steined in the other forum; he used some Polks that I think are the same tweeters that the other 6 speakers use. Can I buy your tweeters if you do upgrade? My shrink wrap guy poked a hole in one of mine last fall...

Pictures of your grilling setup on boat

I bought a table post kit from Magma and 3D printed a tapered adapter for the table leg. Screwed and glued, and it's ready to cook!

Suggestions for easy grilled boat food

Whole potatoes par-cooked, sliced mostly through, thin slices of onion in the potato slices, olive oil and/or butter, season to taste, double foil wrap and cook first on the grill. Boneless/skinless chicken thighs dry rubbed (may want to trim fat; tastes good but boy does it flare!) as soon as...

Want To Buy 2013 Limited S tower tweeter

One of my tower tweeters got damaged; does anyone that upgraded have the old ones still? I'll buy both if the price is right. Thanks in advance!

    Blown engine...Need some advice

Oh man, that looks like a piston hit! I hope I'm wrong! If I am right, the piston is no longer attached to the crank/rod, meaning at least a major rebuild. I have no idea how many labor hours that entails, but it probably ain't cheap. I really hope I'm wrong!!!!!!!

    Fuel Opinions

I have used 87 with 10% since it was mandated in New England; I found that without Startron it would separate and once paid $4 a gallon for 50 gallons when I bought it and $10 a gallon to get rid of it. Most expensive tank of gas ever! 10% ethanol is all I can find, except for 1 gallon cans at...

    How many use Dock Whips?

I spent some time yesterday working on the rash ( contact damage to the gel coat) with a 3M Cleaner/Polish; more than half is gone! Maybe I won't have to repair the gel coat. The spring line we're talking about is a line from the back or front dock cleat to the middle cleat on the boat. It...
