    Are you sure the "remote" at the swim platform is really a remote? They call it a remote on all of the boats, when in fact most of the newer boats have the head at the swim platform and a remote and/or Connext screen up front to control the head. They use NMEA2000 com cable to control the head...

    As long as it's NMEA 2000 compatible, it should work fine. But if you're having salt corrosion issues, I'd recommend putting a head unit inside the boat somewhere safe, like near the dash or inside the glovebox instead of the swim platform.     New 2020 Yamaha 195S

    The white covers are "shipping" covers to protect the boat during transport to the dealer. The factory mooring covers are black or dark grey. You'll likely want one of those for your new boat. The new ones are made by Outer Armour for Yamaha and are strapless for trailering.

    I believe it's free to activate the card ( @Drexx3 can confirm), then you can update the map info as often as you want for one year. After that you need to pay for a yearly subscription to update the info from Navionics.

    It's more critical with a tandem trailer - you want to keep the trailer level with the road surface to maintain equalization of weight on the axle shackles. A single axle doesn't have to be as precise, but a tandem can have weight issues. If only your front axle has brakes, and you underload it...
