Test driving 223 vrx tomorrow, need input ASAP

Your price for 2x250's is pretty good... that's about what I paid last year for 2x200's. No issues so far w/o clean-outs. Had to have my Medallion display replaced as it was faulty but performed while in for 1st scheduled maintenance so they had new unit on hand.

TN boaters - titles? NC boaters - lack thereof?

@veedubtek I live in TN and a title is not required or issued, just a bill of sale showing the amount paid for tax purposes. Same thing for trailers. You do need to apply with TWRA for registration and such, but again no title required. To register your boat out of TN, you probably need to...

Chaparral boats- any pictures of registration numbers on boat?

@BobJohnson I'm not sure this will help as our colors differ, but I am showing a short video where you can kind of see our numbers... we went with black against the white hull. We placed our numbers just below the rub rail. I could not post the video here but stuck it on youtube: . Not...

@OrangeTJ After the break-in period, I reached 54mph according to the dash GPS.

    Navionics on Medallion

I had to delete all the files on my card and load from the website. It worked after that. I couldn't choose the entire U.S. but did get pretty much all of the SE which is where I boat.

One picture of your last outing.

I'm afraid this might be the last pic of our final outing for 2015. Season was way too short....

Water Temp reading on Medallion ??

Thanks for the tip... Will try my new navi chip and try to set up Bluetooth. I thought it was done from the main display. And correct on the engine hours.... The fuel icon shows hours, avg and max speeds, and other data. Hopeful to have a few more nice weeks of weather. They lower the lake level...

Water Temp reading on Medallion ??

I don't think it does.... will check this weekend but pretty sure it does not. I'm still trying to figure out how to set up the bluetooth.

    Navionics on Medallion

@BobJohnson Thanks for the information.... more than my dealer provided. I plan to call Medallion tomorrow and seek a new card. I will let you know how it goes although I hope you have it figured out by the time I get a new card and install it. BTW, I had to have my entire Medallion system...

I know there's a lot of yamaha fans here...

@robert843 I use 87 or 89 (marina grade fuel, non-ethanol) which I was advised by a BRP technician is fine. That is all I can find on the water near me but seems to work fine with no additives.

I know there's a lot of yamaha fans here...

@Morrowcat I did not go with the ballast setup as we're not that hardcore enthusiasts (more cruising & swimming). I did go with the Medallion upgrade (tower speakers, sub, etc...) and the sound is awesome. I'm somewhat of a techie and thought about building own system, but am very happy with...

I know there's a lot of yamaha fans here...

@Morrowcat I went with the twin 200 setup. I can't imagine needing more and have not even pushed mine hard yet. Outrunning a squall once had me maxing them out but with 6 people was still moving along over 50mph. Except for watersports, I'm good around 30mph. Maybe on the larger 240 setup...

I know there's a lot of yamaha fans here...

@Morrowcat I think there are a few Chap folks here, but not many I guess due in large part to the newness of their model. I just hit 16 hours on my 223VRX today and have not had any major issues. I absolutely LOVE the build quality and look of my 223. Performance is awesome (still getting...

How much to offer on new VRX when buying from dealership? Or, What'd you pay for your vortex?

Only one dealer in Nashville and I paid sticker for my 223vrx, which they said was non negotiable. I did get all accessories at cost and the 5 year warranty, and a better trade in $ than what Yamaha was offering. But I liked the style and pulled the trigger.

    Important Scarab/Chaparral/Glastron Info. **Please Read**

@ScarabMike I respect your opinion, but the superchargers have changed in a very substantial way since 2007. I think the initial post was misleading to a degree (not intentionally, but not quite 100% factual nonetheless). Oils (and synthetics) have vastly different coefficients of friction at...

    Important Scarab/Chaparral/Glastron Info. **Please Read**

I am not convinced by the Amsoil review. First, that report is for models up to 2007. Secondly, bench tests may not truly represent real-world data. I am all for using the best product for a given application, but the numerous people I've spoken with, at least for my 2015 model, recommend the...

At 15 hours, my VRX maxes out at about 7800 RPM. I'm not sure about the Yamahas but think it is higher.

    Important Scarab/Chaparral/Glastron Info. **Please Read**

PLEASE NOTE: you cannot/should not use full synthetic for supercharged ROTAX engines (can cause premature wear). I use Mobile 1 in my jet skis (non supercharged) but the BRP synthetic blend in my Chapparal VRX.

Newbie Here Took Delivery of 2016 223 VR

I went with the 200hp set up. I did notice a difference after the 7 hour break in.... I think they run quieter and less whistle. I did not try to pull anything until the 12 hour mark and didn't push it hard until recently, but power seems to be consistent. I'm just now getting everything...

Newbie Here Took Delivery of 2016 223 VR

I have the 223VRX with about 15 hours on it, and have only had an odd vibration once, and it was coming off idle. I shut down and restarted both engines, and all was well. Could have been a stick or something, but have not had an issue since. Small sticks and leaves have gone right through...
