How can we prevent, diagnose, and eliminate overheating problems?

OK - whatever you say. At any point did you feel a stinging sensation on the back of you neck followed by a feeling of contentment? o_O Seriously, I realize that the goo was from an AC drain line; however, I have never seen anything like that here or anywhere that I have lived. My AC is...

How can we prevent, diagnose, and eliminate overheating problems?

It is obvious, your boat and house are possessed by some extraterrestrial being. I do not think Salt Away is going to work.

Moving to The Dark Side. Pilot House w/F300. Just because... it's Atlantic Northeast.

FWIW, I only boat in salt water, and I can clean, flush and dry the boat in an hour. Of course, I have a center console / FSH, which probably makes it a little easier. However, you might want to try using an anti-salt solution on the hull and inside of the boat. It is easier for me being at a...

Moving to The Dark Side. Pilot House w/F300. Just because... it's Atlantic Northeast.

Cool boat - down here Parkers have a good reputation as a more basic (as you noted) very reliable and reasonably priced boat. We looked at them at the Savannah boat show. Up there, the pilot house, I mean Sport Cabin, will make 9 months of the year much more enjoyable.

Aargh... Milkshake Engine Oil... WTF? (Port Engine, 2016 AR240, ~300 hrs)

FWIW - In terms of flushing a hot engine, I am 3+ years and about 100 hours of flushing my engine while it is hot. After I return to the marina, the forklift places the boat directly on one of the wash racks. I am flushing the engine within 15 minutes (walk to the truck to get the wash/flush...

    Gunnel Seadek Reel Protector Pads

Since we are asking for things - what about a Seadek mat (just a single mat) to go on the 190 fish box lid using the OEM snaps (instead of snapping down the cushion, which I keep in the console)?

    FSH 210 Sport Battery Question

If you want to avoid the expense of lithium batteries, you could go with what I have: X2 Power Battery SLI31AGMDPM 12v Group 31 AGM x 2 (less than $800 total). They provide about 10 hours anchoring against the tide (8+ ft. change) and wind. I typically recharge them every 3 to 4...

Trolling motor install on a 2021 Yamaha 195 fsh deluxe

FWIW, I have the 24V 80 lbs. thrust Terrova with th 60 inch shaft mounted on a removable mount on top of the Yamaha mounting plate, and it works great. I am three plus years in salt water with this set up. We use it nearly every time we go out (unless we are anchoring off a beach) for a couple...

    rodent protection in storage

You said a shed on a farm .... Where is/are the outside cat(s)? It might be illegal to operate a farm without outside cats. :) If he does not have any, pick a couple up for him - you pay for the food and vet visits as your rent. :winkingthumbsup"

Engine oil question on used boat purchase

In addition to the oil, I would be concerned about the boat just sitting. How old is the gas, was it stabilized, when did it run last and for how long? If it were me, I would want the boat scheduled for an oil change and general diagnostics at a mutually agreed upon shop. If all is well, then...

I need HELP on first boat purchase...

There must be more (pre-existing) problems with the Scarab line and the other three. It seems that every manufacturer cannot keep up with demand due to or in spite of Covid.

I need HELP on first boat purchase...

The type of cooling system should not be a factor. All outboard engines and probably most inboards are open loop; you simply flush the engine after use - much more important for salt use. I am three plus years in only salt, and I frequently operate is shallow water. I have had zero problems...

    Cleaning Glass

If the other advice does not work (as in you have bonded water spots that do not dissolve easily), you can polish the glass with a glass polishing compound (like Griot's Fine Glass Polish) using a glass pad and a RO Buffer.

Salt away - first time user

FWIW, I use Salt Off (West Marine's less expensive version of Salt Away), and I just follow the directions. I am flushing a hot engine within 15 minutes of boating; the fork lift will have placed my boat on the wash rack directly from the water. I flush the engine with just water using the...

    Fluid Film on everything?

Corrosion X on the engine and all electrical in the bay and throughout the boat. Also, on all hose clamps. I spray everything once a year. Three years in only salt water and no problems.

    Double towing camper and boat.

I think that it is all of the above - plus the ability/inability to back up. Professionals would not only have the needed skills for backing, but they would also have the requisite knowledge (and actual weights) for the loading of the various trailers. I think it would be very difficult for...
