Boat burned up at the marina

Wet slipped boat hooked to shore power (?) - all it takes is fuel leak and the bilge pump coming on or a battery charger and battery mishap.

    Brp vs yamaha neutral rotation

FWIW, I have JBP Lateral Thrusters and Thrust Vector on my 2017 190 FSH; I do not think that I would want my boat to turn/rotate at idle any faster than it does. I do not know how the JBP Lateral Thrusters compare to Yamaha's design change in later models.

    Remote Boat Monitoring

You would need to verify the comparison chart; it is often the case that they are inaccurate (intentionally or by mistake). Your connectivity is also of prime importance. If the connectivity is via wifi, your stolen or drifting boat will soon lose connectivity making the system useless. You...

    Remote Boat Monitoring

I do not use anything - my boat is over 10 feet off the ground in a rack at a marina inside my gated community with security patrols and video surveillance. Most importantly, my boat is surrounded by much more expensive boats. However if I did get a system, I would look at Siren Marine. They...

    Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Graphene

Hot Sauce has some ability to remove non-bonded / superficial water spots via its mild acid content (see the sheets at their website), and it is also a detailer that helps conceal the appearance of water spots. Essentially, it hopes to take the place of washing the hull. I have never used it...

15% off most polishers at Autogeek today (19 JAN) only

It is the annual polisher/random orbital buffer sale at Autogeek; typically their other sales/discounts exclude polishers. If you were planning to purchase one, today might be the day to do it. It excludes Rupes and Griot's. https://www.autogeek.net/newsletter-special.html

Ceramic coating on the interior? Slippery?

I wax my interior surfaces (not the non-skid walking areas) with paint sealant (synthetic wax - Griot's Poly Wax), and I applied a topper coat of Griot's 3 in 1 Ceramic wax (not the same a a true ceramic coating) after about 6 months. I did the same to the hull. Normally, I would have...

Trying to sell my boat and think I’m being scammed but I haven’t got a check or done anything with my boat yet. Need help on what to do.

Just walk away - no more contact. He will lose interest and move on. A scammer could try to use your mobile number and address, but there is very little he could do with it (you can collect that kind of info from the internet all day long).

    Wipe down after every use?

HERETIC !!! :devilhorns: Actually, I respect all choices regarding boat finish care; it makes my mirror like boat look all the better. :winkingthumbsup"

    Wipe down after every use?

It is a topic from time to time; you can search for past discussions - like this one: https://jetboaters.net/threads/water-spots.30830/#post-500823

How can we prevent, diagnose, and eliminate overheating problems?

Be careful - they may identify a new life form, and your boat will become a protected biosphere under the the endangered species act. The government will then force you to preserve it by not using or selling it.

How much GPS capability do I really need? Also, looking for recommendations.

It should not - mine has been splashed with salt water (bad angle on a wake or wave with wind blowing just right/wrong) a few times, and I hose off/wash the console every outing. Waterproof should be waterproof, regardless of salt content. I have a touch screen, and the force of water was...

New design for Electric jet propulsion

It is all interesting, and I wish them luck. However, we are a long way from anything that is battery powered providing significant range or the ability to do a serious amount of work. The terrible truth is that current batteries do not have the energy density required to match oil based fuels...

    Electronics upgarde

There are many good options from the major manufacturers; my personal choice is Garmin. Either talk to your local pro installer or plan on spending many hours trying to identify the models with all of your desired features. FWIW, since you plan to go off shore, I would suggest getting a Garmin...

How much GPS capability do I really need? Also, looking for recommendations.

I do not think that there is a better solution for you than a dedicated chart plotter with a transducer to give you depth. You really need both (a chart plotter and a depth gauge of some type); you will be much safer and confident on any waters that you may boat on. Although many are happy...

    Cobra vs Vector 2021 Edition

Since most comments extol Cobra, I will provide a different perspective. I have always used JBP Thrust Vectors; I installed them at the dealer before I took delivery. I had done the sea trial without any modification. I have been very pleased with the JBP product in terms of performance, ease...

    Trailer help

In terms of negligence, it has to do with both the vehicle rating and state laws. The state laws might allow up to 3K before you need brakes, but your vehicle manufacture may specify brakes required for anything beyond 1.5K (think of a small SUV. As your chart shows, the weight thresholds vary...

    Trailer help

Although it seems like a very bad idea, you would need more facts to determine if it is irresponsible and/or negligent to disable the brakes on the trailer. For example, the OP could only be using the trailer to launch the boat on his own or other private property (he might not plan to tow on...

195 fsh sport or 210 fsh sport in salt water?

FWIW, most FSH boats are going to have a trolling motor mounted on them. I know on my boat my trolling motor will: hold me in place for many hours against the current (Spot Lock) or drag me in against the current at about 3 mph (I am only off shore 5-7 miles). I certainly would call US Tow...
