195 fsh sport or 210 fsh sport in salt water?

I do not know how fast a 210 will run on one engine, but you can run as fast as that is if - you clamp off (plastic radiator hose clamps from auto parts store) or close self installed valves on the dead engine's cooling water intake. If you do not close off the cooling intake water, the water...

195 fsh sport or 210 fsh sport in salt water?

I, also, use my FSH 190 only in salt water around Savannah. I am often in shallow water, and 3+ years later I have had no problems. I also take my FSH to the near shore (5-7 miles off shore) artificial reefs. Another FSH 190 just came to my marina, and I believe there are around 5 jet boats...

    Whos boating in January?

Was out 12/28 - it was sunny and 65 degrees. We fished and had lunch on the boat. We will be out from time to time (at least once a month) as the weather allows. One year we were out in February in sunny 80 degree plus weather, and two weeks later we had a rare snow in Savannah.

    2021 “saltwater corrosion resistant driveline”

FWIW, I spray my clamps (along with the engine and electrical components) every year with Corrosion X, and they all look new after 3+ years in only salt water.

Weird rattling sound in cold weather

FWIW, wind chill cannot freeze water, but the flowing air will cause an object or liquid to achieve ambient temperature more quickly. Wind chill is a measure of how cold it feels to bare human skin, but it does not change what the actual temperature is. If it is 35 degrees and the wind chill...

    Swollen Pump Housing - 2018 AR210

FWIW, I am 3+ years in salt water only, and I have had no problems with the engine/impeller/housing or plug. My FSH is serviced every year at the dealer, and they say everything is great. I also flush my engine and spray down the plug (along with the hull and cockpit) with Salt Off after each...

    Detailing/Paint Protection

Yes - for light polishing and some medium correction. I polish/wax my boat with Griot's One Step every year to remove any superficial crud. It goes from shiny to glowing. I have not done it this year (was due in Nov.), because I applied Griot's 3 in 1 ceramic wax as a topper back in June...

Protecting a New Boat from Theft

You could install a system from Siren Marine. You will able to monitor your systems and boat; they have a variety of sensors that you can install. If I were wet slipped, I would want to be able to monitor shore power, bilge and batteries regardless of theft issues. My boat's first line of...

    Opinions on dry stack storage

I have always kept my FSH in dry stack - 3+ years now. For me, it is the best choice. My marina is part of my community / development; it is a 5 minute drive to the marina. The marina uses Boat Cloud to schedule launches, but you can also just show up. The marina has 2 negative forklifts...

Max hwy speed towing your yami?

An import point to remember is: the weak link is the stability of the boat and trailer. Even a lesser towing vehicle can exert more braking force than the boat and trailer can handle (even with the trailer brakes - any trailer brakes). Similarly, a lesser towing vehicle can remain stable at...

    2021 FSH190 vs AR190 pulling

My guess is resale is about the same - presuming you purchase what is popular in your area. I would choose, and we did choose, based on use. We fish a fair amount (although we do tow tubes, just cruise around and anchor off beaches), and a center console with a self draining deck is better...

    2021 FSH190 vs AR190 pulling

It is my understanding that it is the same hull and engine, and therefore, performance will be approximately the same (variables like small differences in weight and wind drag will play a factor). The FSH 190 seats 5+ comfortably (depending on your definition of seating and comfort). In the...

    Flushing dual engines

I flush with Salt Off (West Marine's brand), and I would recommend it as an extra step to insure the health of your engine. I only boat in Salt Water, and I have done so for more than 3 years. You may have seen some posts about scale build up and sand in some engines; a salt eliminator helps...

Pee hole overheat incident, need advice

Since no one else addressed the limping home on one engine part, you will want to install valves or simply buy locking plastic radiator hose clamps at your local auto parts store for the cooling system. If you travel at a high enough rate of speed for long enough with an engine off, water can...

    Got my boat

You are right; they do not have it available for download yet - odd. I would contact the selling dealer (if have not already done that), and I would contact Yamaha and nicely complain about not being able to download it (they might send you one). We boat mostly in and around the Wilmington...

    Another DA/RA Buffer Polisher Question

Well, you cannot go wrong with Rupes or Flex. Long throw versus forced rotation is more a preference - either is fine for soft, medium or hard paint. The big disadvantage most cite with forced rotation is that it will resist you to some degree if you do not have it properly flush to the...

    Another DA/RA Buffer Polisher Question

I have a Griot's 6 inch RO DA (the prior model to the G9) and the Griot's 3 inch RO DA, and I like and use both frequently on my vehicles, travel trailer and for small jobs on my boat. I will certainly agree a rotary would be the choice of a pro for serious correction, but there are some...

    Water spots

As the others have noted, sealing the surface with wax/paint sealant/ceramic wax/an actual ceramic coating will make it harder for the water spots to chemically bond to and etch the surface. Properly drying the boat is still required to avoid superficial (unsightly) water spots. Many use a...
