Raleigh NC Jetboaters Gathering on Falls Lake - August 10th 2019

Unfortunately, we are out this year, but check out Lake Murray near Columbia, SC; you haven’t done so before. That lake boasts clean emerald water, productive fishing, deep channels, and it is ENORMOUS. Plenty of large rentals homes on the lake, for multiple families to share. It has become our...

    Raleigh Area Wake Surfing Club?

@Julian I'm always up for surfing. In the summer, I regularly make after work runs to harris lake for a few hours. Weekends are more of an all day/ weekend event.

    Jetcat is back

That JetCat is a very interesting concept, although I would like to offer one bit of caution. Referencing a previous post from 2016, the $100k plus market may be a very difficult market to find a niche following in; simply for the sticker shock alone. In my opinion, jet boats, specifically...

Has there been a poll for the most popular fish/chart plottter.

Just to follow up, I was incorrect. The XSR was "supposed to" come with Navionics plus but the one I purchased last year did not. It was the same price as the XSE though.

Has there been a poll for the most popular fish/chart plottter.

@Liveto99 Jealous, I depend heavily on my GO7 XSR but would love to have a GO9. Hmm, maybe I will just spring for a radar this year instead

    bimini emergency

UPDATE: Greg and his crew just texted, they made it safely back to the dock in the US; limping on one engine. Greg said they averaged 12 MPH and it took 5.5 hours to get back. Luckily, the seas were very calm today, and they only had to clamp the non-running engine, knowing that sea tow could...

    bimini emergency

Talked to them earlier, unfortunately I was of no help. Lightening was not a direct strike thank God, but two were shocked. A few storms appeared out of no where over Bimini while most of us were at Honeymoon Harbor (south of the storm). The guys that got struck were near the sunken airplane...

Bimini 2018 June photo and video thread

@Wisefam22, we stayed very close in today, mostly near turtle rocks. 90% were caught running a #2 planer with a spoon. The bigger the spoon, the bigger the fish. @Bruce, we didn’t even put them in the cooler. We used the gaf to pull the hook out of the mouths (not using the gaf as designed)...

    2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

I'm not sure if our total head count makes a difference or not.... however my crew will only have 2 adults.

Does anyone use the newer explorers to tow a 24ft jetboat

@PeterB Have you ever checked your transmission temp while towing? Just curious, as mine usually runs around 230-233 degrees while towing. It does seem a little high but the Canyon forums are useless. Since I am approaching that 45K mark, I am considering swapping out the transmission fluid and...

    2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

@Andy S my crew is planning to depart on Sunday, if a group makes the crossing. Thank you for putting together the chalks, its going to make arrival at Ft. Lauderdale a lot less confusing.

Flushing engine on Yamaha 242 Limited S E series using in Saltwater

If you've never tried salt away, you will be shocked at how well it works. I flush with it and hose down the boat, trailer, and equipment. Make sure you remember to wax as well. I use the starbrite with PTEF (salt won't stick to it).

    Mother's Day Gift Ideas???

I went with one of the fancy handmade humming bird feeders but I guess it depends on what your wife/mother like to do with their spare time.

Anyone gonna be around crab island destin fl

Jealous, crab island is a great time! Just be careful of the tourists with rental boats, they are a lot less careful when tying off than you will be.

New Yamaha AR195 owner in Nashville

Welcome aboard! This is a great forum to learn all kinds of things about your new boat. Just give the slow maneuvers some time and practice, you will gain more and more confidence each time you load, launch, and dock your boat.
