***WARNING*** 2015-18 YAMAHA “AR” BOAT OWNERS WITH FORWARD SWEPT WAKEBOARD TOWERS

Whatever the statistics, a mechanical issue has a lot less likely chance to cause serious bodily injury than a tower collapse. The level of acceptable failure should be a lot lower because the lawsuit won't be for repairs if it collapses on someone's head.

    Wake Booster

My guess is that the boat was loaded with people and adding ballast would probably put them over the weight capacity. They likely didn't want to show off their product with that setup.

    TR1 vs TR2

You do have to wonder how long Yamaha is going to continue to cover out of warranty.

    Wake Booster

I think the demo came with the caveat of no ballast but a bunch of people were on board

    TR1 vs TR2

Overthinking it. They are new at least in boats so long term concerns in reliability aren't unfounded, but not because they are too small for boats. If you are a speed demon, get a jet ski.

    2019 Release coming soon!

I agree that's kind of where I fall. You start talking about a 27+ foot boats and the benefits of jet propulsion start to diminish imo. To me Yamaha is all about taking a smaller boat footprint and maximizing space and value. Everytime I read about the twin or triplet SVHO 30' boat, I think...

    Yamaha & JetBoatPilot

What's your early opinion on Yamaha's new nozzles? Is it just a bullet point for their brochure or do you think they will make a considerable difference?

    2019 Release coming soon!

I've seen that tech on TV or youtube. There are less regulations on the water so it's more doable, but that's a very niche market. 90% of my enjoyment on the lake is with friends and family. I've never had the itch to tube by myself.

    2019 Release coming soon!

It would absolutely be nice, but it doesn't make much sense for them is what I am saying. It would be great for people buying the lower tier models, and bad for those buying the higher tier models. Which ones do they want to sell more of? They wouldn't sell many X or E series boats if you can...

    Ethanol Free or not?

Yeah assuming you are using a fuel stabilizer you will wear out the rest of the boat before the engines are supposedly destroyed by the ethanol.

    2019 Release coming soon!

One model being completely upgradeable to another would be awesome for the consumer, and not so much for the seller/manufacturer, so don't hold out on that one.

    Ethanol Free or not?

If it's available to you, use it. If not, it's not the end of the world and your boat will be fine.

At best I think it would just be on par with the lateral thrusters already on the market and likely more expensive.

    Wake Booster

The confusion is that the booster/board/rope are going to be sold as a package and not for individual sale. You can't just buy the booster, but you can buy the package without buying a new boat.

    2019 Release coming soon!

So are there any demo vids of the new nozzles reversing through an obstacle course or anything? Since this is an across the board change I would think it would be highlighted more if it's something that really improves where these boats are very much lacking.

    2019 Release coming soon!

I don't mind electronic dash components, but Yamaha is missing the boat on aesthetically pleasing. They could put in a little more effort there.

    2019 Release coming soon!

When talking about the FSH they mention the new nozzles taking away from the top end speed to give a little more low end torque? Was that a misspeak?
