Newbie to yamahas thoughts on this potential deal?

If there is no used market within 400 miles, there is a good chance that mechanics in the area may not be familiar with jetboats. Just to throw another obstacle at you. If you do go the mechanic inspection route make sure to vet them as well.

    Boat Value's Increasing

Yep it's very common to see used boats listed using the equation MSRP of brand new of the same model less some depreciation.

Can someone confirm or deny wake boarding behind 275

I thought I saw a thread somewhere that showed tremendous jet spray from the 275 boats. So really even just casual tubing/skiing/boarding may not really be an option.

Can someone confirm or deny wake boarding behind 275

It was never going to be marketed or intended for serious watersports, but I'm baffled at the missing tow point on the tower. I mean you put a tower there why not just add a tow point? Maybe the hardtop gets in the way too much? In the same sense that you can fish off this boat you can...

    Thinking of buying a 2015 SX210

It's on the high end for sure. You can do better if you don't mind some trade offs like traveling or waiting. Buying locally may be worth something to you. You aren't a new boater, so you know what's ahead of you. It's not like you are going to need to sell it a couple of seasons later...

Open letter to Yamaha and a dream for the future of Yamaha jetboating.

There is no doubt that Yamaha boats were once value buys marketed more for the biggest bang for your buck. Their market strategy has shifted as they branch into more competitive luxury and watersports markets. Anyone that was a value customer is certainly going to be left feeling jaded looking...

27' new Yamaha model 275 jet boat to be unveil Thursday at the Miami Boat Show

I think the folding tower has probably just become industry standard with wake tower manufacturers that even if the boat isn't being produced to be stored in garages it still has a foldable tower.

Open letter to Yamaha and a dream for the future of Yamaha jetboating.

I think the point is the actual maker is irrelevant. They aren't aftermarket parts. Rather than source each the actual manufacturer the OP is just lumping it all under a Yamaha umbrella since that's the make of the boat. Even if they don't make the towers they still are culpable of putting...

Consumer Wishlist - Manufacturers Take Note

I'd like the opposite. Less innovation or just less shiny gadgetry so it can get back to my price range.

    Is this even legal

I guess there is some sort of machinery in the bed to lower the boat down, or he's carrying a fork lift in the small trailer? Seems like investing in another tow vehicle would save a lot of time.

    Yamaha bicycles

Appears they've been making them in Japan for some time. I really don't understand ebikes, but those bikes all have really low end components compared to their price tag. Not sure if that's the norm for the ebike world though.

    I need advice!

I don't have any expertise to add, but I am rooting for you. Takes a lot of guts. I would listen to your mechanic though, or talk to mechanics that do a lot of Yamaha work. While we being a Yamaha fan club we may offer up counter points to Yamaha reliability, but we aren't the ones working on...

Proof (?) that you should winterize in colder climates...?

Freezing water is only a problem if there isn't room for expansion.

    Rope vs impeller shaft

Would something like a pool noodle (or something more elegant) fixed to the rope keeping the portion closest to the boat afloat help prevent rope from being ingested? We did this on a single engine Scarab and it pretty much killed the day.

    $95k

Comparing to the what did you pay for your Scarab thread, that seems like a killer price for a 2019

    Should I insure my boat?

Just like on the road there are the things you think you have control over, and an incredibly long list of things you have absolutely no control over.

    Ordered me a 2019 AR210

Congrats. Did you get the blue? I think the blue 2019 AR210 looks pretty sharp. Really like the color accent piping on the seats as well.

    2019 Yamaha 190 Series updates

    That's a 50k 19 foot boat

    2019 Scarab

I would guess a hull specifically designed for wake is going to have drawbacks in the top speed department? Is that not why wake boats top out at 40mph?
