Winter Storage - in the snow

Looking for a bit of insight from the gang for my winter storage plans this year. Have a 2017 AR195 that I've owned since new and live in central WI. I have always managed to find a place to store the boat inside over the winter. Even though it has been stored inside, I still went through all...

Ford F-150 trailer detection not working

2018 Ford here. I used to use the 5-pin to 7-pin adapter. This year I cut off the 5-pin flat blade connector and hard wired in a 7-pin, knowing 2 would be unused. Seems to work fine for me. There have only been a few times that it did not detect. I found that if you plug it in while the...

    AR195S and skiing

I should add one note though .... If you have like 2 adults and a couple small kids in the boat, you'll be fine. But if you push that up by an adult or two or a couple kids, then the weight of what is in the boat can make it a bit harder to perform a deep water start. It's not impossible, just...

    AR195S and skiing

No issues here. I'm 5'9" and 200lbs. Pulls me up from a deep water start on one ski no problem.

Tower screw not screwing in - any ideas?

I know that my tower has been 'tweaked' ever since brand new. The entire tower is a weldment, so it won't stay perfectly straight when it is manufactured. I know that's no excuse .. but it's the reality. Regardless, my starboard side is a real bitch! I'm like the OP ... when disassembled, it...

Storing Outside in Warm Weather (2020 AR190)

I extended the tower cables a bit per another thread here on the forum. So I can mine in the garage if I ever really need to. But my tower only goes up/down twice a year .... when I pull it out of winter storage and when it goes back in. Otherwise it is parked in the driveway with the cover...

Storing Outside in Warm Weather (2020 AR190)

Central WI here ... Have a 2017 AR195. We may not get quite that hot here in the northwoods, but we do get humid. Our hottest part of the summer will reach mid-90's for a couple weeks (with 90% humidty - ugh!). Regardless, I'm going on my 4th summer having my boat parked in my driveway...

    Late Season Start - Frustrated...

That's why we have both summer toys and winter toys. Snowmobiles in the off-season!!! It's the tweener seasons that suck, but that's when we do maintenance.

    Late Season Start - Frustrated...

Same here in central WI. Crumby weather, and cold water temps. We had our boat in the water for a grand total of 3 hours on Memorial weekend. Now that baseball season is here, it's either a weekend baseball tournament, or crappy weather that keeps us from boating. But watching our boys play...

    Swim deck seat cushions

I've been wanting to do a similar thing on my AR195. But I was going to get the stock Seadek on the cleanout cover replaced with JBP's 20mm thick Seadek, Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get an answer out of them for 6+ mos.

    Grate Seal - how important?

Silly uneducated question here. Can someone tell me how important it is to seal the intake / grate? I see quite a number of posts to this effect to help counteract cavitation on take off. But I can't gauge the impact or importance of it. I think I'm ignorant here and just want to understand...

    Registration decals

Did a similar thing on my AR195 when we bought it. I had the graphic cleared by the WI DNR first. Did the boat name the same way. It all matches the factory font.

    Lowrance transducer help

I mounted it right near where the speedometer is mounted in the hull. I built a small square out of cardboard and taped it to the hull. This served as a pocket, or dam to house the sealant so it wouldn't run all over the place. If memory serves, I used some marine epoxy. I filled the dam I...

    SX190 Trailer Tires

I'm still running the bias ply tires with my AR195. There has been a lot of conversation about changing out to radials. I'd roughly say that I have about 1500 towing miles on my setup and I have no issues with the bias ply tires. And I will trailer anywhere from 15 mins, up to 2 hours. I did...

    I Got a Raise!

I've been with the same company for 18 years. Our raises come with an annual performance review, and the percentage is directly related to your performance. Increases are anywhere between 0% and I've seen as high as 5%. But it's directly related to your performance and where your salary is...

    Any advice appreciated on AR195

I think the only people who think this are those who really wanted the bigger boat to begin with. I have an AR195 and our family loves it. No need for a bigger boat.
