    You will need this tool to remove or loosen the cable lock nut to be able to make your adjustments on the 165.

    They only melt when they are run too long out of water without a water supply, and/or you have a blockage. Also, the clamp that holds the exhaust hose onto the resonator usually gets corroded and will snap off under pressure allowing the hose to come off and let lots of water in quickly. I see...

    Ahhh, it's properly called a resonator. Use the XPS spray, it goes on clear, doesn't stain or change colors, and is safe for any all electronics.

    I hear ya! The silencer? Not sure what that is but only because it's probably the name you're calling it. What year and model is the boat? I know that you can upgrade the impellers in the supercharger for more boost and and add an impeller change. It is reliable and won't break the bank...

    Everything you are writing here all points to your jet pumps! Get them inspected--it sounds as if you've sucked something up. As for the bilge kicking on, look for a water leak, or sitting water from rain. If it senses water, it will turn on. What did you spend $700 on?? Please share.

    You have to look for the driveshaft coming out of the back of the motor and follow it back to the support ring. You will have to remove some things to have access, then add water directly to the support ring and carbon seal where they meet (Angle boat upward, and remove drain plugs first)...

    Mike, call Brad over at Waylen Bay in St. Augustine at 904-217-3778. They are 2 weeks out right now on service so be patient. He will let you set up an appointment to get your boat serviced for your current issues.

    I can never measure a person's mechanical abilities that I don't know, but if they want to invest in the appropriate tools to do the job, and have some knowledge first, they could tackle this. I support DIY's, but some times, you might just be better off taking it to your dealer or a reputable...

    Hey Frog, re-read my point again on the Sony Radio. Are you familiar with how the warranties work for Scarab? I doubt it based on your comments. Secondly, when your Std. Yamaha warranty is over in one year, good luck getting that new radio put in. And, good luck if it's even still available...
