Interesting information. Please let us know how this turns out. And congratulations on the new (to you) boat, and welcome to the forum! Jeff

My 2019 242 Limited SE audio build and modifications thread

Ok, thanks for clarifying. The picture does make them look like different frame sizes, for whatever reason. And yeah, the basket/magnet size difference is substantial. The Revos are really great sounding speakers, IMO. Jeff

My 2019 242 Limited SE audio build and modifications thread

RedThumper, are you absolutely sure the smaller speaker is not a Recon 5.25? I replaced my cabin and bow Recon 6.5's with Revo 6.5's and the frame sizes were identical. The Revos were a direct replacement, screw holes and all. Only the depths were different. I think your stock swim deck...

My 2019 242 Limited SE audio build and modifications thread

Good call on the Revo 6 upgrade on the cabin/bow/swim deck. I did the same (except for the swim deck, which are 5.25") and thought it was well worth the investment.

Stoltz Bow Roller doesn't live up to the hype

I have almost this same setup (although with the 325 end caps), and it looks great after a year. No marks on the hull at all. Still trying to get the scratches out of the bow that the original roller left just delivering it to the dealer. I wouldn't run anything else on a 212 hull. Jeff

    Audio help

You could also consider two Syn DX 6's, or one Syn DX 6 and one HTX 6 configured as follows: Syn DX 6: Channels 1-4 bridged for the Rev 10's, channels 5/6 bridged for the sub HTX 6: one channel each for the Revo 6's. I'm running six Revo 6's off an HTX 6 and they sound great, along with Rev...

Didn't witness this one personally, but it was posted on Labor Day. Does it count?

    1.8L Ribbon Delete (2017 212X)

@geohill, I'm still trying to figure out, from when you first posted that picture in the 212 topic forum, how you got the starboard engine to turn the same rpm as the port engine. On a cool day, ribbons intact, I got my port engine to 7750, but the starboard one was 100 rpm lower, at 51 mph. I...

    Let's talk WETSOUNDS

You'll get lots of different opinions about what combos to run on the tower (and everywhere else). I mated some Rev 8's to an existing Stealth Core 10 sound bar, with plenty of amplification to each. That combination PROJECTS. The sound bar does a great job punching through the mids and...

    Let's talk WETSOUNDS

So, we may be talking past each other here. In order to run EACH Rev 10, I'm taking about bridging two channels of an HTX 6. To run a pair, you're bridging a total of 4 channels. I guess there's nothing preventing you from running each Rev 10 on two bridged channels of two separate amps, but...

    Let's talk WETSOUNDS

I personally don't think 100 watts/channel is enough for the Rev 8's or Rev 10's, if you want to be able to crank it up so those in the water behind you (on a board or tube underway) can hear it at decent levels. I think you're looking at multiple amps for whichever of the speaker...

Wet Sounds Rev 8 Upgrade Project

Thank you @Hoyt. Some of the best advice I've gotten on this forum, and I've gotten a whole lot of great advice, was from @Julian when I first started upgrading my audio system last year. I only needed four additional channels at the time, but he suggested I get a six channel amp for future...

    Your First Boat Pics

Is there anyone here who didn't have one of these? One of the best bathtub toys ever (we didn't have a pool, although I always wanted to try it out in one). Oh, and my first boat was a yellow and white Sunfish. No pictures 48 years later, unfortunately. This is a great thread...

    Bimini top and wakeboarding

I was finally able to get the fabric to stretch to the lowest height on the rear legs on our 2018 212X. There's a leap of faith involved the first time because you have to press down on the frame above the rear leg pretty hard, one side at a time, while releasing the button on the leg. You can...

Need help - Lots of water draining from plug on '17 212X

So long as the valve doesn't require any pressure to open it in the vertical position with the flow arrow pointing down, that seems like it should work (assuming the size is correct).

Need help - Lots of water draining from plug on '17 212X

So, I removed the inspection cover on the clean out tray. The hose is right there. Looks like it is a 1/2" or 3/4" ID, reinforced hose, but I didn't pull it off to measure it. Either a check valve, or even a small seacock, could easily be put inline. If more water is coming up the drain...

Need help - Lots of water draining from plug on '17 212X

That is really interesting. Has anyone tried installing a check valve in that drain hose instead of the seemingly more difficult effort of trying to remove and then seal up the tray? I will look at the drain hose area today to see if it is easily accessible. If the check valve idea works, it...
