Electrical Qs: flashing light while docked, DVSR , Connext voltage

I have a 2017 212X and the white anchor light on top of the tower flashes every time the bilge pump tests for water. The way the bilge pump works on my boat is it cycles on every X minutes (5 or so?) and checks for water (using a type of resistance test) and pumps out if needed or turns right...

Plz tell me this is suppose to be there.

As long as its going to a reputable fiberglass repair shop it will most likely be done correctly and be as good as new. If it was me I'd ask the name of the shop its going to and make sure it is a reputable shop and maybe even get in contact with the shop about the repair. And as others have...

Plz tell me this is suppose to be there.

There is no way that is "only in the gel coat"! You can see foam coming out of it if I'm seeing the picture right. You can even see fiberglass layers in the hole can't you? That is a through hole or at least into the fiberglass. A good shop could easily fix this good as new if done right but...

Plz tell me this is suppose to be there.

WTH!! I've seen some shitty assembly/build issues with these boats that are all too common and have to be fixed but this takes the cake for sure - unbelievable! "Hey my new boat is fine except one thing..... there is a hole in the bottom, maybe want to take a look at that???"...

@Julian Thanks for this! Up to now had to switch browsers every time I use the FAQs - works great now!

    Skiing behind a Yamaha 242Xe

Yep, nothing you can do. More weight up front will lift the jets and make it frothier, conversely more weight in back will increase the size of the wake. Best way is just evenly distrubuted people and endure the less than optimal water from a less then optimal ski-able boat.

Shark Bit My Jetboat, Chipped a Tooth

Was the tooth still stuck in the TVs or how the hell did you get the piece of tooth?

    Testing the new wake booster

I’d personally be nervous about not using the pin - I hope “tying to the cleat” is secure because there is a lot of force going on there and hate it to come loose and take out the rider. But that’s just me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cleaning thick hard water scale off boat bottom

Anyone find a product that is relatively easy to work with and that i don’t have to wear a full hazmat suit to clean thick hard water scale off the bottom of the boat? Our boat lives on a lift and we keep most of it waxed and hot sauce in between, but we don’t really get the bottom so there is...

    rear rubber ring

If you are talking about a silicone ring that came out of the exhaust port (port with black rubber baffle with splits in it) - that is just extra silicon that squeezed out on the inside from the installation of that rubber baffle. Has happened to pretty much every new Yamaha boat owner in the...

Do you make people take their shoes off before getting in you boat?

Its a rule but there are limited exceptions. For instance, 94 yr old friend of the family, I don't have it in me to tell him to take off his socks and shoes before coming on the boat, to me at that point it is time for "people over things". People we know all just know the rule - others I...

    rodent protection in storage

I'll just add this product that I use for covering up / plugging up different ports and holes. The steel in it is stainless so it doesn't rust. Works well for things like plugging up the exhaust ports etc...

    Winterizing in water

Yeah I get that the lake may not freeze, but at 9 degrees I think I'd be concerned about any water freezing that is still in the cooling lines and/or engine because the intakes are under water preventing normal drainage. Not sure if that is the case but seems like it may be. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Winterizing in water

I don't know if that would do anything or not. Not sure I have heard of anyone keeping a Yamaha in the water where it could be below freezing. I know @swatski used his boat into the colder temps of Missouri and used a engine bay heater but he had his on a lift, not floating in a slip. Not...

    Winterizing in water

Ah yeah, sorry, I saw slip and my brain said boat lift. In this case I'd second what @Canuckjetboater mentioned about an engine bay heater if there is power.

    Winterizing in water

"bump the throttle" meaning after you pull it out, start the engine up and rev it a few times to blow it out.
