    Spark plugs binding

I actually do recommend you do it yourself, I would. But only caveat here is I personally would not try any type of thread repair (be it a thread chaser or some type of thread insert like heli-coil) without removing the head - getting metal in the cylinder could put you in a whole new can of...

    Spark plugs binding

Yeah I'd second that, if they are indeed cross threaded and not just corroded, any repair I'd attempt would mean the removal of the heads. Seems to me that if they got progressively easier to remove with lubrication and movement I'd be taking a closer look at possible corrosion. What did the...

    Amateur Hour Here!

Only thing I have to add is something that gets said around her a lot. "Buy your second boat first". If you are waffling at all between boat and the next model/size up, get the next model/size up boat now. In my experience with boat ownership is what is good enough turns out to be not quite...

Correct way to attach tow rope to tow hook

Yeah I think the main reason is you definitely want some stretch in the rope for most towables. The only activity where you don't want any stretch is wakeboarding and wakeskatting, but then why not just buy a nice non-stretch wakeboard rope for that. In the pictures above for my examples...

Clean out plug actually filled with water?

Yeah I agree with this. That is where I concentrated my efforts, sealing up the cleanout tray. It seems to be normal for the new style clean out ports to have water in them after day on the water. However, it is getting there from my observation on this forum everyone has it. So far from my...

Yamaha Boat Loans Sold From Synchrony to Yamaha Motor Finance

Curious if you have ever verified the interest you are being charged. I only say that because a number years ago when I was looking at buying a boat and looking at that type of Yamaha financing deal. I was also considering it because I was not planning on keeping the boat more that 5 years...

    212x wake

I have the Yamaha wakebooster. Stock ballast will not cut it. Tried lots of extra ballast configurations until I finally broke down and bought the swim deck bag - that’s what did it and was the only ballast option that worked with the wakebooster for me.

Ribbon delete on a 4 Star California Model?

But regardless of what you find out, in the interest of answering your question. Historically there were 2 ribbon sizes - with the CA models being the larger of the 2. 6D3-1444B-00-00 = SMALL RIBBON 6BH-1444B-00-00 = LARGE RIBBON Some people have removed the ribbon without putting an insert...

Ribbon delete on a 4 Star California Model?

Read thread https://jetboaters.net/threads/2019-ar195-ribbon-delete.22749/ This where I remember someone talking about the change. @dshscarab took apart his 2019 ar195 and discovered that the ribbon was one piece with the intake now. I don't know if the 212x is the same but the parts diagrams...

Ribbon delete on a 4 Star California Model?

Unfortunately I think (but someone with a 2019 can confirm) that in 2019 Yamaha started making the ribbon part of the intake manifold. So the only way to do a ribbon delete on a 2019 and on is to cut it out of the intake manifold. I'm not aware of anyone having done that. Personally I only...

    Unidentify part found in Bilge

Yeah others have found that same part in the bilge of new boats. Best guesses I’ve seen offered is a shipping cover to some part or material that was installed or used for installation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aargh... Milkshake Engine Oil... WTF? (Port Engine, 2016 AR240, ~300 hrs)

So basically it's a great warranty and they are happy to cover anything..... unless something goes wrong. :winkingthumbsup" ?

Ugh - sorry man, this sucks - hope they get it figured out and Yamaha comes through for you.

Aargh... Milkshake Engine Oil... WTF? (Port Engine, 2016 AR240, ~300 hrs)

I'll throw my hat in the ring on the blower fixing hard starts while surfing. Don't know why but it does seem to help since I started this practice. Now I run my blower during any extend pulling situations not just surfing. @swatski feel for you - hope you get this resolved and it turns out...

    Ridesteady and throttle drop?

The answer is yes and no. If the throttles are slipping Ridesteady won't cure that problem directly. However, because usually throttles will only slip when at certain positions, with Ridesteady, you can set the speed at what you want then move the throttles past the slipping point and...

    What would you do?

Huh - interesting statement. Never really thought of that as this is the first time I'm storing it where it needs the cover left on all winter. However, since I never heard of this precaution before I'd bet that a high percentage of owners here don't do anything special about this even though...

Thoughts and demo rides of wake / towsports boats: Moomba Max, Axis A22, MB Sports

Yeah that boat is sweet but also how about that designer's desk complete with water feature. o_O

Winterizing for a fresh water wet slip.

Some run antifreeze through the engines but many do not even in the frozen sub-zero temps up here in MN. The engines mostly self drain. Many just rev the engines a couple times to blow out as much water as possible but any water left in the water boxes and small amount in hoses doesn't...

    Wake Booster

I have 2017 212X - you need something to clean up the wake (Yamaha WakeBooster or Gantlin WakeWedge) but you also need to add about 700-800lbs on the corner of the swim platform. The Gantlin custom swim deck bag (750lbs) works perfect for this. I tried a lot of different things and until I had...
