    Any Sarasota area jetboaters?

My wife and I are in the area quite often. We tend to hang out at Passage Key (Sausage Key), Egmont or the Shell Key sandbar. We usually launch from Maximo.

Everyone be safe/Godspeed. Someone please link your InReach or Spot so we can keep track of the crossing. Weather looks decent 2.2 @ 4 sec. Pregame with Advil, stay on plane, set the cruise and enjoy the adventure.

There was a group of skis a few years ago that traveled south along the east coast of Andros, then crossed the Tongue and followed a 35 mile sandbar to Exuma. Now that is awesome!

For salt water newbies, as frightening as it may be when approaching rough water, stay on the throttle and keep your bow up. Our boats do a great job of deflecting water but not when we are off the throttle and the bow is dipped down. Yell for everyone to hang on and power through. It's scary as...

Why did everyone stop 10 minutes into the crossing? Is this when a boat got swamped?

A wise captain taught me "If you have 2, you have 1. If you have 1, you have none." This as my bilge burnt out about a month after Bimini.

Four 5 gallon cans will fit in the ski locker. With decent weather and cruise control at 6000 (most fuel efficient), we made it burning 26 gallons in our 192. We only stopped once half way as a break. Expect your boat to suck air many times like jet skis do. If traveling in a group, take more...

I want to go to Bimini 2017

My wife and I are in. We will probably meet everyone over there and cross solo as our dates may not line up. We look forward to meeting new friends. @2nazt 2018 will be our Exuma trip as well.

New boat - confused w dealer advice

Put me down for the nurf football trick. I don't use a lock on my plug. If it blows, I expect the football to absorb most of the energy.

Yamaha AR series open seas handling

Get as much salt water experience as possible before crossing. Preperation and weather of course are very valuable but your experience will allow you to act without thinking. My $0.02. By the way, my wife and I went solo in our 192. The JK Squared on YouTube.

    Solo trip to Bimini SX192

Trying to feed it with squid by hand was a pretty stupid thing to do. That being said, it surprised me more than anything. I had 44 little punctures in 2 fingers. Being able to say I survived a shark attack...priceless.

    Solo trip to Bimini SX192

All good info. I didn't consider keeping up with a group. That would be a challenge and definitely effect the burn rate. My wife knows to hold on and pregame with advil. Haha

    Solo trip to Bimini SX192

Good call! We have practiced with the shake siphon which works awesome. I didn't want to have to hold a can over the edge in unknown conditions. Should be about $10 on Amazon.

    Solo trip to Bimini SX192

We had 4, 5 gallon fuel cans in the ski locker but didn't use them. We burned 24 on the way there and 24 on the way back. Burned another 26 while we were there. The 192 optimum rpm for fuel efficiency is either 2100 during no wake or 6000 when running. I set cruise at 6k during crossing which...
