    Daytona Boating waters....

I am pondering taking my boat to Daytona for the winter. But not too happy about trailering 900 miles, which will mean a trailer overhaul and soon. This just scares me. Plus, not sure how my baby would survive a hurricane. In any event, can anyone share some bodies of water in the area to rip...

2021 Seadoo Jetskis featuring IDF Intelligent Debris Free Pump System to Clear Clogged Intakes with a push of a button

Ha ha there is a reason they are known in some circles (the jet ski rental industry) as Seapoos. Bottom line? Look at a rental place. Nothing but Yamahas or Kawasakis. No Sea Doos. For obvious reasons. You can abuse (and renters do) the Yamahas and Kawasakis and they keep on churniing.

2021 Seadoo Jetskis featuring IDF Intelligent Debris Free Pump System to Clear Clogged Intakes with a push of a button

I'd like to see how it ejects a chunk of wood jammed up in there. Oh, thats right, it won't.

    Vehicle wax recommendations

@Elliott I mis-spoke. I use a weak polisher, cost maybe 25 bucks years ago and don't use a pad but rather, hold a microfiber cloth to it and spin it. It is not strong at all, and saves my muscles. I have used this on my boat for years with spectacular results.

    Vehicle wax recommendations

@Elliott Brand new truck, first waxing. I applied it by hand, let it dry and then buffed with a polisher. Maybe I should have applied with a buffer? I just followed the directions, and as thinking would go, applying by hand gets it on well, then it dries and you buff it out. As opposed to...

    Vehicle wax recommendations

Just an update...remember, I was talking about car wax, not boat wax. As for the Griot's Poly Wax, I tried it. It does go on very easy and looked good. But 2 months later, it is not really beading the water anymore, if this means anytning. The paste wax I used in the past that I got from my...

Took my LS2000 for the first time, couple questions

No need to convert. The pumps never fail. The lines do so replace them. It is a hassle pre mixing. Measuring oil, wondering how much gas in the tank etc.

Took my LS2000 for the first time, couple questions

Any fuel filter will work. I used to get basic ones at walmart for about 2 bucks a piece. Carry extras because once a season you will say "why am I bogging down?" and a simple replacement of the filter is the fix. Don't ask me how I know.....years ago and a dummy I just pulled it in and...

Can't find Polk Audio DB651s Any others that will fit in the exact same pattern?

@Beachbummer I bought 4 of these 2 seasons ago and they failed after very little use and no exposure. COMPLETE GARBAGE THESE POLK PRODUCTS! Not happy about it, but what can one do? Will not buy anything Polkish again, but they now have the polk DB652s out and they should fiit the same hole...

    How many hrs this season?

I have had my 2008 SX230 since 2013. 8 seasons. Just over 50 outings. LOL. 180 hours. About 6 trips a summer on average. One trip in 2017 and none in 2018 if I recall, which really skews the annual average!

What portable battery charger do you recommend?

@addisonm06 LOL Here goes a shout out My Pulse Tech started showing signs of not working. Testing a new battery as dead, and on reversing the same thing on my second battery, which is also good. I figure crap, it lasted for several years, time for a new one. I actually had an undated receipt...

    242 Yamaha with 170 Hours

The boat will wear out before the engines. I have an 08 that just hit 200 hours. Hell not even broken in yet! Look at rental jet skis - yamahas and kawasakis as they are abused by renters for 1000's of hours and keep on trucking along.

Do not move to the People's Republic of Maryland.

    Reinstalling oil pump on LS2000.

As I said, the pumps don't fail. And once you replace the oil lines and secure them, you are good. Just ensure they are about a foot longer than you need, so when they bounce about tearing up and down the water, there is some "give" in the lines.

    Anyone else fleeing their state?

Me and the Boss have been discussing leaving the Peoples Republic of Maryland, but really don't know where to go. The taxes are outrageous, and the leftist policies are driving people out, especially so in our county which is run by extremists. Public schools are horrible and I don't want my...

    Reinstalling oil pump on LS2000.

My guess is pre mix may smoke a bit more because of the ratio of the mix not being exact. IMO however, in your case it is better to leave well enough alone and keep the pre mix set up. At least you won't burn out the engine because it was oil starved.

How far south to be able to do watersports in early October?

Oct 14, 2014 Hit or miss. Evenings perhaps a jacket? Mid-day, warm water in the Pocomoke. 20 miles south of Ocean City MD, wherein October it is a buyer's market for all type of rentals - house in Ocean Pines or OC, and endless supply of empty hotel rooms for any budget. Personally I'd...

    Installing Polk DB651s finally

The DB651s should be an easy in out swap. My SX230 cutouts were the exact same size as the DBs, so it was an easy in and out, and connect. They fit the factory cut holes perfectly. The sound quality was superb while it lasted. A nice upgrade without all the extra work. Perfect for someone...
