Anyone here own a 27' Yamaha Jet Boat? If so, what do you think of it?

a 9' wide boat does need a permit to tow in most instances. When I was a kid, my parents bought a 24' Campion with a flying bridge on it and since it came out of Canada, it has a 9' beam vs an 8.5 beam. That's really only a difference of 3" per side. My dad stored it in the driveway and towed...

    Antifreeze for winterization

On the Yamahas, the only thing you may need to add antifreeze is if you have a freshwater shower (use RV fluid specifically for water systems). Once the boat is out of the water, the main place where water is still located in the system is the water boxes (mufflers). Since you blow water out...

    Towing with Tesla Model X

For me the biggest detriment to towing with an EV would be charging. All of the charging bays I've seen are for cars - not vehicles with trailers. That means EVERY time you wan to charge, you have to drop the trailer, go charge for your 30-60 minutes, then go pick up the trailer. Whereas most...

    242 E Series Bimini

Not to stir up the pot, but I don't get the whole towing a long distance with the top on. All you do is create a big sail that you have to pull through the wind and risk having it ripped off...especially when it says 35MPH max. For the 5 minutes it takes to set up/take down vs. the cost of...

    Anchors for southern lakes?

This season I added about 8 feet of chain to my small box anchor. That added chain made it stick every time - even in wind. If you cut a piece of rebar (I painted mine with spray in bed liner so it won’t rust) it’ll hang in the anchor locker on a 24 footer without any modifications. It is...

Thrust Vector Wake 24 Footer JetWash Deflector Testing Video NEW Oct 1 2019

Thanks for the update Will...looking forward to the updated version. Since you're testing the 24 footer, I wonder if you are experiencing the same thing I am. When adding 400 or 800 lbs on the swim deck, the boat struggles at about 9MPH...unless you also add some weight in the bow. Thoughts?

If only they.....<made Connext Screen Covers>

I had a Connext cover delivered with my boat. They say to put the cover on it when there's a chance the screen may sit in the off position int he direct sun. My rule of thumb is to put the cover on at the end of the day and/or trip. Oh yeah...I also leave it loosely on the Connect screen at...

    Done with Yamaha.

To me, this sounds like a story of a crappy dealer. And no matter the new product, there are typically good and bad dealers. Did the Connext system die? yes. Did Yamaha repair it? Yes. Did the cover get holes in it? Yes. was is covered? No....but then how well did the dealer go to bat...

No Wake mode Check engine alarm

Check engine could be a multitude of things that's hard to read without a YDS controller. I'd turning off the batteries, let them sit for a few minutes to reboot the system, then try to isolate it and try idling manually at about 1800-2200RPM. See if the check engine comes back on without NW...

Boat and Trailer Security, Theft Deterrent, and Locating.

When I park mine on the street for a week or two per year, I have a ball lock on it, and always fold the tongue away at a 45 degree angle with a combo padlock in the holes. I figure if they REALLY want the boat and trailer, they can have it and that's what insurance is for...but I'm all about...

Small box Anchor is a perfect fit in the AR240 locker

That's it. you have to fold it down to fit it in the locker. I hung mine from the existing mounts with a piece of rebar I spray painted some truck bed liner onto.

Sweet Baby Jesus! Maneuvering at 5mph!

Little bumps of throttle are your friend...too much and she will over-react. Also practice turning with the outboard engine in forward and the inboard engine in reverse. With a little practice, you'll be able to turn it around in it's own length.

Small box Anchor is a perfect fit in the AR240 locker

I cut the rubberized mats like they use in the bottom of the floor locker. I cut it to fit as it allows it to drain. For protection around the top, I put some 1" Gorilla Tape around the edge and that's protected the opening pretty well. As a side note, last season I had a couple of times...

How I use No Wake Mode and TDE to retrieve my boat

TDE still keeps the buckets slightly covering the nozzles. Moving the levers approximately 1/2 of their thickness moves the buckets completely out of the way. No Wake on the E-Series boats has 3 settings and is designed to allow you to navigate distances at "no wake" speeds.

How I use No Wake Mode and TDE to retrieve my boat

Yes, you have TDE. Place your throttles in the forward idle position (where the notch is felt). the Boat will creep forward in TDE by default. From there, move the throttles about 1/2 a handle width and then you have full thrust in forward idle. The bucket change is evident in the sound of...

    Help! Stuck in the water

You can move them manually. however, since it's just one, can you take a peek at it to see if there may be any rocks or debris stuck in the bucket....?

Yamaha mooring cover when in a slip?

One nice thing about that cover on is the ducks/geese don't sit on the boat and crap all over the transom. I love those Ski Nautiques in the Marina with really nice teak transoms...all covered in crap!

Yamaha mooring cover when in a slip?

I attach mine. The only part that really is in the water is the straps that go into the tie down loops. If you're worried, try to leave it with less fuel so it doesn't sit so low in the water.

AR 240 Water every time I go Out..

Mine is dry until I do any water sports....all it takes is a descent wake over the stern and she gets water. As others said above, put any weight on the stern and it'll seep through the rub rail as well. I don't stress too much over it as the bulge pump catches it when it reaches a certain...
