Hard (re)starting list-side engine (ballasted AR240, wake surfing)

Doubtful the issue is backpressure - the 1.8l can be hard to start when hot. Running the blowers seems to help to cool the engine compartment...

    not another Trim Tabs thread

Boat rides best without them! But, they will be useful to level the boat when passengers don't cooperate and I am curious to know if they really do cure the steering pull issue these boats have when running in windy conditions.

    Auto Bilge

Gotta be in auto mode in connext. (highlighted in blue?)

Please tell me this is not real

Coating the bilge (and pump) with dirty oil isn't a good idea and borderline illegal since you'll be draining oily water for a while afterwards. I guess removing the plugs made all of those 15 second cranks easier on the starter? Hard to believe he was told to do it this way by his dealer!

    CO risk on swim platform

While undesirable for a number of reasons, catalytic converters solve this issue and really are a good idea for watersport boats!

    Household Electrical Safety WARNING

GFCI didn't trip because voltage wasn't leaking to that circuit's ground. Check that cord's insulation again and I bet you find a worn spot!

For the boat owners with Young kids, help me out

Sorry but newborns don't belong in boats! I'd wait a couple of years...

Any theories on what caused this?

Looks like the articulated keel was forced to articulate the wrong way!

    2018 yamaha 242 limited s e series release?

You've got a 2017 242LSe and you're "in the market" for a 2018? Yamaha's been busy the past few years, I wouldn't expect much more than new colors.

    Surprising water leak...

The most common leaks on these boats are the drain plug and the jet pump access port plugs (while underway). All have o-rings that need to be clean, lubed and seated properly or they will leak! A dribble out of the flush port isn't unusual but doesn't amount to much and should drain out the...

    Tower worth it?

Unless you have a bridge clearance or storage height issue, definitely opt for the tower.

    Cleaning bimini canvas

Looks like it time for the charcoal gray top all these boats should have!

I think you guys will enjoy this

Pretty painful to watch with all those random edits - but proof that even our wafer thin hulls can withstand more abuse then the people on board!

Took on water and was sinking

Scary situation - did the boat get completely swamped? The 19's are the only boats required to have positive flotation, did that come into play? I've had my various jetboats in the ocean on plenty of days where I knew if I dropped the bow I'd likely be swamped in just a few waves, and I guess...

    New Sea Ray SLX 400

That must have been the show special price, I bet the MSRP with options easily exceeds $500k. Most 50 footers these days approach $1M!

    Fuel stabilizer

A good argument can be made that any of these cleaners and stabilizers are nothing more than modern snake oil and you will be fine without using any of them - while others will swear by them. IMO if your engines see some WOT - there's your free cleaning job, and if you use good fuel, keep it...
