    Override in Reverse for E-Series

There's a procedure in the manual for manually "shifting" the gates if the solenoids failed, so Yamaha did have some concerns about that. Once you've managed to jump start a motor, there should be enough voltage for the e-throttles to operate.

The New 212X is here! Hard Tanks, Connext, Stereo upgrade and more!

Very surprising they didn't put the e-throttles on this boat... bet I can predict a 2018 enhancement!

    Safety on the water!

Fall off between the pontoons in the front of a moving boat, and it's almost guaranteed that prop is gonna get you!

My 50hr review of my 242X

More likely you're getting some cavitation and hitting the rev limiter!

    Charging system is odd...

It almost sounds like both batteries are bad since the DVSR needs to charge the Start battery for a long time before switching to the House, which seems to have low capacity. Any chance they froze last winter or were completely dead?

    Tesla Battery Powered Bayliner

Pretty impressive job! His battery packs (and given the double efficiency of electric motors) gives him the equivalent to about 4 gallons of gas. Definitely don't get far in a boat that never coasts or recharges itself. Regardless, all of that electricity on board concerns me - imagine a plug...

Oil Change on MR-1 (How to perform a Complete Drain)

I'd bet the 1.8l motors have a proper drain plug, adding a remote oil change kit would be a slick setup - should be a standard feature on inboard boats!

Does your boat match these numbers?

Boattest has a set of their "test" results for these 24 footers that are wildly optimistic for speed and fuel efficiency. They also publish other results (for these same boats) that are much more realistic.

I got my YES package from Yamaha but it says it's only for 36 months!

Many of the extended warranty companies try to play this base warranty "overlap" game! My deal was agreed upon with five years of warranty included but when this year's factory program only offered 3 years of YES there was some hemming and hawing going on but I did finally get my YES warranty...

Borrowed Boat, ran over weeds. Need advice. - SeaDoo Islandia Overheated, engine replaced

IMO if what you have written is true and the boat never indicated an overheat while you continued to run the motor, that damage shouldn't have occurred during your use and the owner likely cooked it himself.

A wood chip stuck in the impeller can disable my Yami - what do you guys do differently with your pumps?

    less than 7300 rpms - 2015 AR240

177 HP (same as always). Just saw 51MPH @~7600RPM - I think the E-series bimini has a bit of drag!

    In the ocean

In any sort of rough seas expect your Yammie to last for two waves, one to swamp it and the second to sink it!

    Connectx system and "Err" speed

Doubt it's a software issue or we all would see the problem. My "max speed" bizarrely read ERR all of a sudden one day out, reboot reset it to the current max speed...

What should the max rpm be on 16 24' boats?

CARB = California Air Resource Board approved and outside of CA certain states apparently require a certain portion of boats sold to be 4 star compliant (at least that's what I've heard) so you may or may not get catalytic converter equipped motors. 7550 RPM is typically max on the 1.8L and...

    Connectx system and "Err" speed

If the boat is wired correctly, it should be safe to assume if Connext is indicating a charge level voltage (13+V) on the "dual" house battery readout, the start battery has already been topped off by the DVSR.

    First post & Initial Impressions 2015 AR240

I agree about the fuel gauge reading, but I'm referring to the data displayed by Connext which tells you your gallons used to the tenth. It would appear DaytonGator had 2/3 of a tank for the return trip (and the on-plane optimistic bar graph gauge readout seems to agree) which is about ideal...
