    Engine Problem

Both engines/pumps? Sounds a lot like stuff in the pump(s); have you looked in the clean out plug holes yet?

    Bimini top question

Use some threadlocker when you reassemble; you'll probably see some when you remove the screw. A little heat might help with the removal.

    Head with pumpout

Our old Four Winns had a porta-potti with an adapter/hose set up that made it a pump out system in order to be NH legal; I hated pumping the system when not on a lake with services. I bought a roll around pump out contraption that I used for a while, but had to transfer the stinky contents in a...

Question about the new Snap in full boat Sea Dek Yamaha uses in their new boats.

I have the old school snap in carpet, and I leave it snapped in all summer at my dock. I take it out in the fall when I 'winterize', because past experience has taught me that's when they get moldy. I also leave them out until I change the oil; I'm not super neat and a few drops on the floor are...

What to do about freezing temps at night.

The boat will self drain; crank the trailer jack to raise the bow and most of the water will drain out. If you want extra reassurance, you can put a small heat source (like a work light) in the engine bay to add some extra freeze protection. I don't think that there are many hard freezes left in...

Milfoil in Tahoe??!! We live on a shallow (13' at its' deepest) man made lake with a chemically controlled milfoil issue; when I was young you could almost walk 100 feet from shore on the dense matt of the stuff. I thought a deep mountain lake like Tahoe would be immune to the stuff. Please...

    Fortress Anchor

We bought an F-11 as a second anchor with our 24' pocket cruiser; it was excellent. I still use it as a stern anchor with our Yamaha on sandbars in Lake Winnipesaukee, NH; it is very reliable. The weight and design make it a solid choice.

    Just a simple question

I am with you, brother! We're looking at an inch of fresh snow this morning on the boat shrink wrap and truck camper! WE NEED SPRING!!!!!

    any regrets?

Our last boat before the Yamaha was a 24' Four Winns deck; ZERO regrets! The Yamaha is far easier and cheaper to maintain mechanically, more fun to drive, and way more suited to my 2' deep wet slip. I did add fins; I still like them 5 years later because powering in to my dock isn't kind to the...

SCUBA diving from Yamaha 24 footer?

On my old Four Winns, I took the port seat off of the pedestal and strapped 4 large diameter pipes around it. An aluminum 80 could fit into each pipe with additional straps/bungees to grab handles for more complete motion control . I'm not sure if that is an option for you, but the table leg may...

Coolest Boat Mod Ever ... literally and figuratively

A lot of RV refrigerators are absorption cycle coolers, and don't have a compressor at all (I cheated and looked it up on Wikepedia). Maybe a small RV fridge can cool the keg?

    Battery mistake ?

Probably a dumb question, but turning the DVSR to 'OFF' does isolate the batteries, doesn't it?

Thinking about a boat, need some advice.

We had an '07 Tundra with the 5.7 l; that thing pulled like a monster! We once owned a Four Winns 24' Vista, and had more than enough power with the Tundra. If they made a 1 ton, I wouldn't have bought anything but; needed something bigger for our new toy (and still be able to pull the boat).

    "Camper Enclosure" Question

Thanks, @Ronnie! The dock is a bit long in the tooth; I built it 19 years ago when we built our house on the lot that used to have my parents summer cottage. Heavy as hell, but I don't take it out for the winter because the lake is drained 3-4 feet for the winter ice every year now. The boat is...

    "Camper Enclosure" Question

We had a full enclosure made; I'm not sure what type of snap the guy used but the windshield and side pieces all attach to the top of the windshield. The enclosure helps stretch a short boating season; "What rain?".
