Before I am dropping $2500 on Stereo hardware...

Gotcha....check with Odin @Earmark Marine he can likely give you a package deal on the speaker and HU, just tell him your plans and he can likely provide some solid knowledge and save you money. I bought all my M770s and 2 of my 4 amps from him, solid pricing (was so good I opted for the 4th...

Before I am dropping $2500 on Stereo hardware...

Those stock speakers are better suited to not needing an amp, whereas the JL stuff will sound best when amplified. You can start with the speakers and find a low costs amp that will suffice. How many speakers do you plan to change?...that will dictate your amp choices and cost range...

Before I am dropping $2500 on Stereo hardware...

I wasnt aware of the stock speakers being larger than 6.5in, on both my 2012 242LS and my 2017 AR240 both were 6.5s, but in my AR I went with the larger speakers, for you if your going to run towers you can still go 6.5s but if you want to BANG then the 7.7s are the way to go IMHO...I started...

    Stereo noise with new ground

No line converters and no eqs, just the JL equipment...was really hoping this would do the trick. I can have him play with the RCAs but beyond that still open to ideas

    Stereo noise with new ground

Like a low white noise,.doesnt whine, just sounds like low static. I have all 4 amps under the helm behind the connext. I just confirmed and HU is grounded to same battery as amps. He confimed the RCAs are shielded I do use bluetooth only, and still hear it when all lights are off

    Stereo noise with new ground

I am not sure....i have 2 house batteries, whats the best option to reduce the chance for noise?

    Stereo noise with new ground

Hey Captains, I finally got around to getting my push button start installed over the weekend and while it was at the shop I had a few other things done, such as a new 3 bank charger, some more lights, DVSR mod, and to have the ground to the HU replaced. He used a 10 guage ground from the HU...

Adding LED Tower Lights 2016 AR240

These lights are awesome, I actually keep mine dimmed when on as they are very bright, provides a ton of light.

    AR192 Budget Stereo 2x 12" Subs!

That's the plan, I am going to get a custom vent made and enlarge the existing vent so I can keep the door closed but all the bass can escape. I am venting it on the door towards the bottom, there is an existing vent there but not sufficient for what I need, so will cut that out and open it up...

How much battery do I need for my stereo system?

grab 2 of the group 27s and you should be fine. I think you want to look at the reserve capacity and amp hours, higher the better. That WS amp is prob pretty beefy, so you might wanna get 2 vs 1 to have room for growth.

What is the "right" tower speaker/amp upgrade

I have the JLM880s because I don't wakeboard, and really only got an AR240 for the tower to hang speakers on...that said, I had some 8" HLCD towers on my last Yamaha, they were loud and did the trick, but my research pointed me to the JLM880s since I don't need to project at long distances, and...

    Subwoofer Orientation

Its probably best to have it as close to the sub as possible. There are a few options for vents, some are made of plastic, some use speaker grills, I bought a pair online that are super nice and made from starboard, and even when kicked will not dent or cause damage. I have an extra that I...

    Subwoofer Orientation

I think for the most part bass is omni directional, so our ears cant preceive the source nearly as well. I have 1 of my 2 12s under the seat and as long as you properly vent it, you will be happy. Do you have it vented? I cant tell where its locsted but when u open the seat you should be...

    Single battery stereo upgrade

Out of curiosity how did you decide on a Oddesy battery...I've heard of them, but for 400 bucks wondering how many amp hours it has? Saw some other fancy batteries at the boat show here in LA, but even their specs for deep cycle batteries dont seem to justify the price vs other group 27/29...

2017 AR240 full JL Audio upgrade (phase 2)

I went with the swivel mounts so I had the flexibility rotate, although I keep them pointed towards the rear 80% of the time as I often back in when I anchor, with the transom pointed towards shore. Im 6'3", have I hit my head...Yep, do I care...NOPE, does it sound AMAZING, YEP! I will learn...

    AR192 Budget Stereo 2x 12" Subs!

The diff is night and day as you can see when you lift that seat. I need to feel all my bass, hence trying to do the same things as you. Once I get the white one I'm going to order to install on the port storage areas, I will post some pics, expect to get my next round of mods started in...

    AR192 Budget Stereo 2x 12" Subs!

Totally understand, but you've come this far to get great sound... Im in the same situation, my 2nd 12 doesn't have a vent so I keep the door open, but when I'm underway I lock the door which totally kills my vibe, so I need a larger vent than this one to fit
