Before I am dropping $2500 on Stereo hardware...

Im going to swap out the RCAs as well for the Knuconcepts (not sure which ones yet, suggestions?) to see if the ground and new RCAs does the trick. Even if that kills 80% of the noise I would be happy, I have come up with workarounds but prefer to get a cleaner signal.

Before I am dropping $2500 on Stereo hardware...

@Hezi you are correct the larger 7.7s sound better and I can confirm that they do fit with virtually zero modification, only a 3/4 spacer for the area in the bow, and slightly enlarged holes in the other areas. On my first phase 1 audio build I also went with 8 MX 650s, not loud enough, so...

Bought a New Sound System-Selling Polk Tower Speakers

@swatski Good idea on adding the info to my Sig, I will do that over the weekend. Here is a thread that shows the most recent upgrades....I did mine in phases, started with 6 MX650s, wasnt loud enough, and Wife didnt want more than a pair of tower speakers so in speaking with JL tech support...

Bought a New Sound System-Selling Polk Tower Speakers

Yep, I have 4 speaker in the Helm, 2 in the Bow, and 2 on the rear swim deck. That is odd a dealer would tell you that, it is def not true....I actually have all M770s around the boat, all getting 200w rms driven by a pair of M800/8s with all the channels bridged....Wife has told me its loud...

Bought a New Sound System-Selling Polk Tower Speakers

@DJMattyT what JL speakers are you referring to that wont fit in the bow? I can confirm the 770 series will fit with spacers. I'm running JL M770s in the bow and they are VERY loud. I also have M880s on swivel mounts I can point to the bow. Still looking for ideas on adding even more sound to...

One picture of your last outing.

Past weekend in Laughlin at Lake Mohave, still 102° Pretty windy Sat...upwards of 27mph so we posted up on the shore and hung out. Those whitecaps wore us out. Sunday was perfect!! Looking to squeeze in 1-2 more trips for the year if possible.

    Amp in battery compartment?

Ahh ok gotcha.... And yes I thought the WS 420 was a nice add, and I almost picked one up sans for the JL amps having the remote controls which I used two to control my towers and subs independently, besides the microphone which is slick I was told it wasn't needed for my setup. Just...

    Amp in battery compartment?

Yes @Mainah that's what I'm talking about....how much easier can it get than that. I can change the volume without even having to look down , the jog wheel is super simple. Coming on or off plane. What am I missing on why others seem to find changing the volume so difficult... press one button...

    Amp in battery compartment?

I'm able easily change the volume by pressing the media button and using the control knob to adjust the volume...I've heard a few mention this being a pita and using WS420... What am I missing....couldnt be easier to adjust the volume.

    Looking for AR240 Upgrades

Start with the stereo, all that other stuff is nice but imho having tunes is a must, unless your fishing and need quite...4 speakers ain't gonna cut it and JL ain't cheap.... Glad you increased that budget,lol... My vote is 6 Jl MX650s, and some sort of sub 10/12 depending on your bass needs...

    Transom 242 speaker

Makes total sense....I have those JL M880s for towers, and 8 M770s. You will have a nice sounding system. What kind of sub? ported or sealed, and where will you mount it? You might be ok with 1 house battery, but eventually might need two depending on how long/loud you play for. I have 4 JL...

    Transom 242 speaker

Excellent choices...those will do you fine.... Any reason you prefer the WS speakers over Jl...towers maybe...speakers and subs...not sure....I'm biased but just cusious. Make sure to use good wiring and rcas

    Transom 242 speaker

Sounds like a nice system....I rock all JL Audio. Those Revo 8s are pretty massive, I dont think they would work unless you mount them in a particular spot if it has the depth, those are definitely bigger than the M770s I put back there, not by much but still def larger. My cushions still...

    Transom 242 speaker

You dont HAVE to do it this way....It was my experience based off having 2 diff sets of speakers installed within 2 months I'd be interested to see if your upholsterer can create that same look as the 242LS...would be very nice touch, but I saw a few other members just square it off and that's...

    Transom 242 speaker

@Oscar Cruz congrats on the new boat and welcome to the forum... I can chime in on this personally as I just had my cushions modified on my 2017 AR...Twice. First time I had some JL MX650s put in and had them cut but didnt install them, then ended up replacing those speakers with larger M770s...

    Solar Charger

One thing I have seen a buddy of mine do, which is in extreme circumstances is hooked up his little generator and charge his two batteries and just let it run out of gas. Not the optimal solution I know, but sounds like this might be an extreme case, and unless you want to pull the batteries...

2018 242x house battery while anchored question.

@Ryan Esparza how often have you been charging your batteries after an outting? You shouldn't be getting a low battery on your starter...house maybe... You should.be able to cut the start and not get the low battery...interested to see what the dealer has to say.

2018 242x house battery while anchored question.

I dont think you can drain the start with the parallel off?? At least thats what I've been told by a dealer, and members on here. I used to always turn all three switches on, including the parallel, then hated when I went to turn off start that my tunes always shutoff....I was then told not...

That is what I do....leave both on, and parallel off.

2018 242x house battery while anchored question.

Yes, those do....trickle charger from what I understand, really all depends on how much power your running and for how long. The ride home probably also isn't going to charge them back up 100%, these boats have stators not regular alternators, so the charge they put out while underway isnt...
