    Advancing jetboater with questions!

    1) 25' for the reason you stated, "better handling in rough water" 2) Biased opinion here, but I really do like my 255 Scarab. I agree with Bill D's take on the Scarab brand, so far. Although Scarab seems to be getting better with each model year. 3) I have the twin 200hp (actually rated at...

190 engine compartment keeps opening while hauling

Dealer ordered a new latch for me under warranty. We are taking a six hour road trip this weekend which should give me a good idea if the new latch works.

    Joining the Carbon seal fun!

Hmmm. As I was pulling my boat out of the water last weekend I noticed that my bilge kicked on. After it stopped I opened the drain plug and maybe a gallon poured out. I didn't think much of it until you said yours usually has no water coming out. Edit: I don't know if this matters but that was...

What is the average amount of water that should drain out of the drain plug?

    Scarab 195 Open

Go thru your display setting. In there you will find a setting that you can adjust the neutral.

    Cupholders full of water

I think you might be right about storage being underneath. I'll check for sure when I get back to the boat. Arrows are pointing to the location of the cup holders that do not have a drain hole.

    Picking up a new 255

I got the mat from scarab when I ordered the boat along with the underwater lights, upgraded stereo and second battery.

    Cupholders full of water

I agree! I would hate to drill them out and have the water sitting in my hull somewhere! I'm hoping a few more people could chime in with advice.

    Cupholders full of water

I'm just wondering if i can drill a hole in the bottom of the existing cup holders, or will the water stay in an area of the hull that doesn't drain to the bilge? Should they have been drilled out from the factory? Seems ridiculous to have cup holders that don't drain and also that they...

    Cupholders full of water

So I finally took a picture of my cup holders. They do not have a hole to drain. As you can see in the picture, there is only a stainless steel cuoholder with a rubber bottom and no hole for water to drain. The cup holders at the helm have drains but the ones pictures do not. They are...

Scarab build quality is very poor. (My 215 HO Impulse Wake)

I agree. I love my boat, but I wish they spent a little more attention to detail and build quality. I listed some issues on page 2 in this thread: https://jetboaters.net/threads/new-member-2017-scarab-255-ho-impulse.12258/

The Official "2018 boats are coming" thread!

Is this a Yamaha only thread? I'd be curious to hear what the other brands have coming out as well.

Yamaha vs. Chaparral - trying to decide...

You're right, Bennie! Christ those 2015 Chaps are loud even when compared to a 2016 Scarab with similar engines.

Yamaha vs. Chaparral - trying to decide...

Thanks for clarifying. I was trying to post a comparison of the Chap and Yamaha db levels because on the first page somebody posted a 20db difference on the sound level, which was obviously not correct. When someone is making a decision between two boats it's always nice to have the facts.

Yamaha vs. Chaparral - trying to decide...

I'm assuming you knew what i meant and you're just breaking balls. My statement about "true neutral" could have been taken the wrong way. Let me clarify: The boat will stay in one position when you move the throttle to the neutral position.

Chap's have a "true neutral" as well.
