Replacing the trim on our "storage closet" door opening

This is one of the easiest and most effective fixes for our boats that I could ever recommend. I did the storage door a year or two ago and shortly thereafter realized that it was the perfect fix for the exact same issue I was having with my tables. The crappy vinyl edge trim was literally oozed...

    Grinding gears behind instrument panel?

There's got to be a way to test the instruments with the engines off. You've got me curious, so I'll see what I can dig up. I hope it's as easy to fix as the time I had a noise coming from MY helm...I finally figured that one out. It was a loose nut behind the wheel! So my wife took over...

Muscle Car posts split from "2016 Lineup of boats"

Aw, I was hoping this was going to be a thread about electric cars...like the Leaf! Or maybe the Prius? Not that I'd ever own one, well, I might buy one for one of the kids....not my kids though. They both have V-8's and won't part with them. 'Cept maybe for a V-10...

Suggestions requested on planning a multi day solo boat trip

I've towed my boat up to Shasta, I'd do it again in a heartbeat - in fact, we were just talking about doing another trip up there sometime soon. I've been out on Tahoe - not my boat, a bigger one. It's one BIG lake...water was chilly, but beautiful. I don't think my boat would run all that fast...

Is it possible to replace Bimini Straps?

The straps should be looped around the frame and held in place by a screw or pop rivet. You can replace them fairly easily. drill out the rivet/ unscrew the screw, cut the old strap. You'll have to do a little bit of sewing to loop the new strap around the frame again. Replace screw or pop...

    Hull damage

Ha Ha , good one...I already HAVE your number, remember? Maybe I'll make a video of this repair - it's going to be a down and dirty parking lot repair job using Spectrum paste and my room key card! I have a bunch of those things piling up, might as well put them to good use. :D

    Recovery with only Starboard engine

In addition to keeping a set of spares, I keep BOTH keys on one float - and I tested it to make sure it floats! I had an auto inflating fob a while back, but I wasn't very comfortable with it since I wasn't able to test it...it's a one shot deal. When they hit water the capsule opens and...

Access hatch for drivers helm SX210 HELP

If you go with a small hatch you could probably retain a portion of that track. I don't think it's critical that it run the entire length of the door.

    Hull damage

Hey great work Andy. Glad it all came together for you. I, on the other hand, managed to put a ding in MY boat over the weekend! I was nosing around a dredging operation up river - looks like they are building a new private marina. Well, I underestimated the strength of the current...

a few more....for the old married guys... What’s the difference between your wife and your job? After five years, your job will still suck. What does one saggy boob say to the other saggy boob? Miscellaneous Jokes....

A man and a friend are playing golf one day. One of the guys is about to chip onto the green when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to the course. He stops in mid-swing, takes off his golf cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer. His friend says: "Wow! That is the most...

Stop me if you heard this.. Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other man pulls out his cell phone and calls emergency services. He gasps to the operator, "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator in a...

    Check your tower bolts!

@Bruce , @Julian Maybe we should add that to the new boat owner's list if it isn't already? (I'm assuming there's a list - I can never find stuff when I need it) One of the things I tell new boat owners is to go through the entire boat with the tools you'll need to check EVERY fastener on the...

Help me decide whether to reinstall (drill) my old, original fins

@4x15mph If you liked the way the boat handled before the nozzle was broken, I'd just go ahead and return the boat to the same state. If, on the other hand, you want to try something different go without for a bit and see how you like it. You can always put them back on.
