    Mystery power drain

Yes, sorry, I did do that, and it read at the battery, that's how i was troubleshooting. The pain of course is that each item must be disconnected vs clamped on, which I hoped would yield a faster find.

    Mystery power drain

Hello Folks, This will be a slow hunt, as it's too hot and I don't have much time with all the boating I'm trying to get in before summer's over...BUT Something is taking 0.03 Amps of power when the master switch is enabled to a battery,, and everything else is switched to off. Everything is...

Replacing decal on my 230...any advice

I took the decals off mine and it looks great. I much prefer it. Just a thought.

    Reverse bucket linkage rubber seal

How did you install it? Did you shrink it with the steering all the way to the right? That sounds pretty cool.

Did this engine run earlier this year?

The engine serials are in labels inside the engine and could be in your title depending on your state. The real question is, if it was swapped, can you do anything about it at this stage? Too bad the mechanic was a fraud, but the important thing is what you can do going forward.

    Reverse bucket linkage rubber seal

I used a tie rod boot with zip ties and filled with grease. So far cables are very slick still. That little plastic piece functions for a few months.

    Installing ar230 impeller shaft

I don't think that would work as the impeller shaft is inserted into the intermediate bearing shaft. This must be installed from the back of the boat into the intermediate shaft and bearing.

    Installing ar230 impeller shaft

One thing you can do if you get frustrated because there's no progress after trying for some time.... You can separate the pump into it's basic sections and only insert the pump first, leaving out the nozzle and gate. This makes the piece much lighter and easier to maneuver. Once the pump is in...

    Finally, return to boating

    That's quite an upgrade. Congratulations!

This was a while ago. Did you get it running?

    Installing ar230 impeller shaft

If you measured well, and the shaft is protruding the right length... There's grease and a seal on there.... You can have someone rotate the impeller while you push... Same advice for other insertions.. lubricate, rotate and jiggle... Should go in eventually. Maybe also shine a light and...

Motor not responding to No Wake Mode Inputs

No wake requires certain TPS reading before it will engage. Maybe throttle was a little sticky and open more than permitted? If it's all working well now, just keep an eye on it. If you are very curious and have YDS for your boat, you could read the tps voltage and degree position at idle from...

    syphoning gas ....

I thought it was a once a year thing or once a lifetime situation. You could plumb a T connector and feed from there for a permanent solution, but there's a reason more people don't do it. Dealing with gas in containers is heavy, boring and smelly at best, and it goes down from there. Full...

    syphoning gas ....

I don't know for how long it will remain active, but you can disconnect the fuel line from the engine and set the switch to ON. At least some fuel comes out until you cut the power. I realized when removing the throttle assembly to adjust the throttle sensor, then keyed to on to check the...

    Unpowered Auto Bilge Pump?

The fuse is only a protection device. Increasing the fuse size won't increase the power of your pump. A larger fuse would allow your pump to draw more power without blowing the fuse, but seeing how it does not blow the current fuse, a larger fuse won't do anything, except slightly reduce the...

    Unpowered Auto Bilge Pump?

I recommend theT-800. I purchased the 1200 but their unusual hose size was more expensive than I would have liked. The t-800 can use 3/4 hose which is cheaper and more widely available. Since any water that you don't know where it comes from is concerning, I'm not a huge fan of the vacuum...

    Unpowered Auto Bilge Pump?

There's a drain plug with a float ball. So when you get on plane the water drains. It sucks, leaked on 4th use. Waste of $25. Bilge pump is so important but without an alarm, you are still in trouble if it gets overwhelmed. You really want a bilge alarm so you know when it comes on AND if it's...

Do we really need our scuppers?

It's the magic of physics. Water pressure mumbo jumbo water level bla bla, water drains to the lower water level even if the drain is submerged. As long as the water inside the boat is above the level of the water in the lake/ocean the water will flow out of the boat via the scupper.

2006 Yamaha SX 230 starting issues with one motor

I had never heard the injectors could be dissasembled.... Do you mean open as in electrically activated so they allow fluid through? Or opened as in disassembled to explore the internal parts?
