Differences between the Newer 4 Cycle Yamaha Jet Boats

I've been around a lot of the newer models and agree that the bow room difference is significant. The swim platform is also significantly lower in the water. I don't care for the look though.

Pulling out of a steep ramp with 2 WD truck

Depends on how steep is steep and also if the ramp has some sort of texture. Never had a problem with my 2WD truck, but I'm looking for 4WD replacement as you only need it when you need it.

Yamaha FSH 210 36V Lithium Trolling Motor Battery Runtime

It seems the spec will dictate run time and not the technology. i.e., 100 AH is 100 AH.

    Tow Vehicle Tires

My experience with Michelin tires is they ride well but don't last long. My current truck has bridgestones and seem like they are OK. It all depends on the model and not so much the manufacturer on mainstream branded tires. Models also go away frequently and replaced with new model which...

    Trailer hitch adjustment?

The main for most trailer electrical failures is the ground wire. I would check the ground which is usually attached to the trailer with a bolt up front, and the blue wire coming from the solenoid that is connected to the blue wire of the trailer connector.

    Speakers not working

The amp doesn’t have an onboard fuse. Not sure who or how installed. I have a fuse block at the batteries for my amp. You need a volt meter to check if power is getting to the amp, and if power is flowing on the turn on wire connected to the remote input next to power connections. Head unit...

    MR1 issues

I think this may be responsible for a lot of MR1 engine failures...which is fairly rare to begin with. Glad you caught it.

    Trailer hitch adjustment?

As mentioned, a clunk sound is a good indicator of a worn out master cylinder or you need bleed brakes. There is also a piston that keeps forward pressure on the actuator slide. I have a brand new slide assembly and it doesn't clunk. I also have a lockout that has magnet built in. Comes in...

“Better Boat” ratchet straps VS Boat Buckle straps?

15th season with my boat buckles. I'll let that stand on its own.

XS Power batteries for starting and house?

To me it's more about spec that tech. Then from there it's cost/value. I wouldn't consider any deep cycle that was less than 100ah. I would also consider the same deep cycle for starting. I pull from both. I have my boat speaker amp wired to starting and tower/sub to house deep cycle but...

IS Wet Sounds Equipment THAT Much Better?

You have to compare apples to apples and for intended purpose and goal. They make a quality product. JL, Fusion recently, and Kicker and others make some good stuff at different price points. A system where you want to hear loud quality music while boarding, surfing, tubing, etc is different...

    Speakers not working

A few questions you need to answer. Does the amp have power? The green light in the middle will be illuminated. Does the amp have signal? You can test with an alternate source...like iphone/phone with RCA outs plugged in to the amp. You can get an adapter on Amazon. Are the speakers wires...

    Car Insurance Companies and Rates

There are so many variables when it comes to insurance and it's difficult for folks to compare rates and say something is to high or too low. My brother in law and I have Farmers and live a street away from each other, same value house, credit, etc etc. We were going over our insurance for...

11 people rescued from an overturned Yamaha jet boat

This happens all the time. Pop up storm. Inexperienced boaters. No life jackets. July 4th weekend usually multiple deaths both swimming on shore or on a boat. https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/three-dead-1-rescued-after-boat-overturns-on-lake-lavon/2995977/

    Rockville 8 Channel Amp Question

Yes. The sub output is ideal for your potential setup. The frequency filter is done by the head unit and you really need 2 channels bridged to give decent power to sub.

    intermittent engine starting

I have replaced both servo motors over the years. I wonder if they are drawing a ton of juice at startup cycle??? The motors run hot but when they went bad they were smoking hot. Just a flyer.
