    Unpowered Auto Bilge Pump?

The fuse is only a protection device. Increasing the fuse size won't increase the power of your pump. A larger fuse would allow your pump to draw more power without blowing the fuse, but seeing how it does not blow the current fuse, a larger fuse won't do anything, except slightly reduce the...

    Unpowered Auto Bilge Pump?

I recommend theT-800. I purchased the 1200 but their unusual hose size was more expensive than I would have liked. The t-800 can use 3/4 hose which is cheaper and more widely available. Since any water that you don't know where it comes from is concerning, I'm not a huge fan of the vacuum...

    Unpowered Auto Bilge Pump?

There's a drain plug with a float ball. So when you get on plane the water drains. It sucks, leaked on 4th use. Waste of $25. Bilge pump is so important but without an alarm, you are still in trouble if it gets overwhelmed. You really want a bilge alarm so you know when it comes on AND if it's...

Do we really need our scuppers?

It's the magic of physics. Water pressure mumbo jumbo water level bla bla, water drains to the lower water level even if the drain is submerged. As long as the water inside the boat is above the level of the water in the lake/ocean the water will flow out of the boat via the scupper.

2006 Yamaha SX 230 starting issues with one motor

I had never heard the injectors could be dissasembled.... Do you mean open as in electrically activated so they allow fluid through? Or opened as in disassembled to explore the internal parts?

2006 Yamaha SX 230 starting issues with one motor

If you don't mind a little fuel, you can open the injectors by feeding them 9-12v... You might find someone local to clean them for you. There are a few you tube videos, folks using carb cleaner spray to clean them. Best of luck!!!

oil leak from front of engine on yamaha 2007 FX cruiser HO

Yes, that cap Is ornamental, And there's no difference on engine performance that we are aware of.

oil leak from front of engine on yamaha 2007 FX cruiser HO

This is where that cap normally goes.

oil leak from front of engine on yamaha 2007 FX cruiser HO

I think the cap might have come off with time or vibration, the leak is another matter entirely and needs to be researched.

oil leak from front of engine on yamaha 2007 FX cruiser HO

The cap on my experience is ornamental and covers a hole in the engine head. If you only have one, the other might be right on the head still.

To keep (and fix) or not to fix our 2003 SR230 Yamaha Jet Boat?

SBT does offer a warranty, but it's parts only, so the labor costs to replace if it fails are on the buyer. If you can source a better engine by all means do that. Best of luck!

In need of superchargers for 2014 215HO

Marine use Is just so different that auto. Car engine might spend 10 minutes above 5000rpm in it's lifetime... It's more like 100 hours out of 200 hours for These ... Different animals

Need some help: Another Reverse Gate question

The Throw of the cable is controlled by the binnacle, not by the cable... So if the cable reaches the desired spots, it's not the cable that's wrong, but something else on the adjustment.

To keep (and fix) or not to fix our 2003 SR230 Yamaha Jet Boat?

Engine does NOT need to be taken apart for first diagnosis. I would ask if they can rig a compression test of Cylinder 1, and leak down test., if the mechanic was a fraud, he might have lied about no compression. You might need a head only if cylinders and bottom end are good, and just valves...

To keep (and fix) or not to fix our 2003 SR230 Yamaha Jet Boat?

Where are you located? Sometimes it's the head and sometimes it's the block...Any chance it's the head only? "Cylinder shot" can mean a few things. Usually when the injector is stuck on, the issue is the computer, not the injector...and the computer can cost another $1K or so. You will want to...

    Motor issue ar 250

I would strongly suggest confirming oil level and insulation, perhaps identifying if the noise is from the pump or engine. For your own happiness, I would not take the boat in now unless you identify an issue. Maybe it needs more use, go run it like you stole it :) Best of Luck!

    Engine wash out

Right, that's the hose connection to allow you to run the engine for more than a few seconds without overheating it, while the boat is out of the water. In my opinion you can run 15 seconds max without cooling water.

    Battery installation issue

There are several wires that go on each battery post... And the connections need to be very tight. Poke your head in there for any cables that you missed connecting, and retighten both negative and positive posts. New also does not always mean perfect. If the above fails you may need to check...
