long story: Going to need some professional help, I ...

Sorry to hear about the mishap @Ronnie ! That should clean up just fine, you probably won't even see the repair when it's done. Glad it didn't happen at the start of the season. You have plenty of time to get it taken care of.

Now that Summer is offically over who is still boating?

We keep our boat in Needles and boat primarily on the Colorado and Lake Mohave, but there are a few lakes local to Los Angeles and a couple farther north that we've been to over the years. Castaic Lake is only about an hour's drive from our house in Redondo and a bit farther up the road is...

Now that Summer is offically over who is still boating?

Temps are still hovering in the 100's this weekend at the river...we'll probably go once or twice before we switch over to dirt for the rest of the year.

Do it once the right way and you won't have issues down the road. That's my opinion, we all have them.....

    What am I looking at?

I think Mr. Moose is on the right track. Your boat is basically new, I think Yamaha should cover that. You might want to have them look at it now just to document that it happened early. Then have the repair done after you are done enjoying your boating season.

Close Call Over The Weekend, How do you remind yourself?

Can't say that I've ever forgotten to put the clean-out plugs in, but I have forgotten to replace the drain plug...once. And maybe remembered at the last minute to check it one time, but that don't count. Probably the biggest thing I forgot once was the BOAT! Yep...backed up to the trailer...

    My Old Boat

Ahem, I believe "Classic " is the proper term for a finely aged watercraft :winkingthumbsup" I've been aboard the new boats....they dragged me to a boat show last year....I love the new technology the new boats have, but the prices? Not so much....yeah, I'm cheap. Besides, I'm comfortable in...

    My Old Boat

Wow, great shot. Yamaha struck gold with that boat. We couldn't wait a day longer. There weren't many boats available out here on the left coast when they first came out. Most people (including some dealers) weren't aware of the Yamaha "Boat". Most places automatically assumed I was talking...

    My Old Boat

Thanks Dan. I saw the forecast for this weekend and don't know if I'll be able to handle 115 degree heat right out of the gate....I usually need a day or two to acclimate. Here's an old shot of the ol' boat. We've since removed the graphics, thinking about adding a stripe along the waterline:

    My Old Boat

My wife and I just spent a few weekends cleaning and detailing the old boat. Added a few things, tossed a bunch of stuff that we collected over the years...afterall, who needs 23 pfd's? I checked the expiration date on my flares...they were new when Davy Crockett last rode with us! But guess...

    Table Leg Replacement

I thought I'd follow up with some photos....I mean, afterall, you guys got me going with this...you might as well see the results. So, having purchased the pole and bracket at a great price I was left having to buy the table mount - it's a very nice part and I found it for $65 ($100 + retail) I...

I need some gel coat assistance

Yes, but they always get me in trouble. On the sprayer? Sure, they are pretty good - especially if it's a small job and you either don't have a compressor and spray gun or air brush or simply don't want the hassle of clean-up. Sometimes the smallest jobs are a pain in the neck due to...
