    Today was a bust.

Captain Obvious questions coming, but did you check all the things that I have forgotten to check over the years? Lanyard, clean out plug tray, boat in neutral?

My father passed away this evening....

Sorry for your loss Julian. T's and P's for you and your family.

    Ohio River Jet Boating

I live in Cincinnati and boat in the Ohio several times a year. I avoid it when the water is high since that is usually when we have a lot of debris, but if it is close to pool I have never had a problem. In 4 seasons I have only sucked up one small stick and the cleanout port took care of that...

Need your advice on how to handle a neighbor

Sounds like you have patched up things with the neighbor. Make sure the BF brings proof of the license test, new car, etc. to court. Usually on a first time offense (where I live anyway) the worst he would end up with is 1 non-moving charge so it won’t mess with the license going forward.

How much fuel is each bar on the digital gas gauge

Mine is actually much closer than 5 gallons, but I’m a big under-promise, over-deliver guy so I figured I’d give myself a cushion.

How much fuel is each bar on the digital gas gauge

Using the trip function and looking at gallons used is much more accurate than the gauge itself. In my experience it is within 5 gallons every time, usually closer .

Turn Your Boat Into A Camper

On my boat in order to spin the seat around I have to bring the back of the seat all the way forward. Think airplane takeoff putting the seats in the full upright position. Only then can I rotate it the full 180. The lever for that is to the side of the seat, not underneath, but they may have...

    Bluetooth sound

Make sure the volume is all the way up on the phone/iPod. That’s my only guess. I don’t have any problem with volume unless the phone volume is turned down for some reason.

    Boat Slip Fight on Crimefaces

Shoot. I didn’t realize that. I only follow about 8 people on there and whenever I have sent out Qualified Captain videos they worked. Sorry.

    Boat Slip Fight on Crimefaces

Crimefaces is probably one of the funniest social media accounts out there. He comments over street fights, usually starting with the line “What hood is this???” Since this one was boating related I figured I would share for some Sunday night entertainment.

    Really Embarassing Rookie moves

I am an absolute imbecile. No question. And sucking up a rope was the least of my worries honestly. But I tell these stories on myself in the hopes that someone thinks of this and it doesn't happen to them, or if they do make a rookie mistake they know they aren't alone and there is always some...

    Really Embarassing Rookie moves

We tied up to some other boats, and after while they asked me to drop an anchor just in case. (First time tying up to people). About an hour later everyone decides to leave, and since I am on an end I am rushing. We idled out away from the bridge where everyone was partying until we got far...

General sales prices for basically new boat.

I can't imagine what you are going through, but I want to sincerely thank you for writing about your wife. I can't speak for anyone else, but that one paragraph just put a hell of a lot in perspective on a day when I really needed it. I pray that the treatments provide your wife many more good...

    25' Foot Boat Range

Had to run on one at no wake for about 2 1/2 hours when we sucked up a rope in June. Boat doesn’t handle nearly as well on one. I wouldn’t think twice about paying for extra gas vs dealing with the poor tracking on one engine.

    New Cincinnati Member 242X

I am also a Cincinnati guy. We do the river with adults, Brookville for a 1 day trip, and Norris several times a year.

240/242 Head is it really usable for other than the kids?????

On adult nights on the Ohio River the ladies have used it. None of them came out raving about it being real comfortable, but it served its purpose. The other 99% of the time people just jump in and pee like God intended.

    Highway towing with Bimini

After my boot ripped I started taking the whole thing off and laying it on the floor. I trailer with the cover on so that way I don’t have to worry about anything. Only adds a minute to the prep when we get where we are going, and the new boot was around $130 so I figure it’s worth the time.

Why does Yamaha call it the 250-series?

I may be oversimplifying things, but if you already have a 240 and a 242, throwing in a 245 that does have some significant changes may throw people off. Maybe it was just easier to call it 250 to differentiate from the older models?

Tow rope sucked up and bound

We sucked up our first rope after 3 seasons with the boat this year. I had read all the posts, had a rope lookout person, but it happened. We had 2 tubes out and the wife didn’t realize one was underneath and it sucked up. I’m guessing that is similar to most people’s situation. Figured it was...

    Wall of shame

If you leave a cove and your anchor is still down how many points is that? (Tied up to other boats and just dropped in, not set). Asking for a friend...Also I saw a guy do it last weekend and his bow ladder was also down, so my “friend” felt a little better. Of course the friend yelled to the...
