    DIY GPS Speed Control Project

All I was saying is investing $400 in a module that may require a bunch more components to make it work starts sounding less and less compelling when an already tried and proven system works off the shelf for around 1k. I was going at this trying to spend less than $50 on an arduino and GPS...

    DIY GPS Speed Control Project

I logged in for the first time in 1.5 years to agree that PerfectPass for $1k vs. partial components for $400 is a no brainer. Unless you're interested for the challenge of figuring it out.

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

2019 boats still have this problem. Amazing that after a few years, they still can't tow wakeboarders without the rope contacting the bimini...

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Definitely still a problem. It has not loosened up any, and I can still only lower the rear supports by one click using an unreasonable amount of force. I also can't tow with the bimini collapsed well, as like @Lakedogs the bimini is too tall collapsed and the rope pushes down on it. The best...

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

After removing the snap rings, you just tap the pins out? Like with a hammer and screwdriver towards the outside of the boat?

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Ha, yeah, I read your whole thread. I was thinking for some reason that you actually removed the whole tower (not just lowered it by removing the two bolts). It looks like there is a snap ring on a pin through the place where the tower actually pivots.

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

At the risk of derailing the thread, can you tell me how you removed your tower? I’m wanting to remove my tower to store the boat for the winter

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Ok, after looking over that link, and rereading the manual. It does say to adjust the rear poles when wakeboarding. However, I believe this is not possible without the mod as describe by @viper15. Thanks for posting that. I think this may be the answer to the question. Still curious why...

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

This is brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for. I'm gonna read this closer when I'm not at work, but sounds like the same issue I'm having on my AR210.

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Yes, they mount to fixed points, but the rear legs are already adjustable (the book says always leave them on the longest setting). With alot of force, i can adjust them down one click, which really tightens/ stretches the bimini a ton. This does help a bit when the rope is above, but still...

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Thanks for the offer, but after looking at it, I'd rather just figure out the current bimini. Again, I appreciate you throwing that out there.

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Look at the picture I put on a previous post. It rubs just barely when pulling directly behind the boat. But cutting outside the wake the rope bends around the frame of the Bimini when the rope is underneath.

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

I’m curious what it is, I haven’t heard of it before. While I’m not opposed to it if it fixes the problem, I’m not sure why the factory setup with the factory Bimini doesn’t work for me. I feel like the problem is much worse than chafing. All the weight of the rider is put on the Bimini hardware.

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Maybe. I don’t see any adjustment aside from the back legs so I am not sure. These two pictures aren’t exactly the same angle. But in the video the back of the Bimini looks like it would easily clear, while mine looks more like the blue boat- the back of the Bimini has a flare that goes up...

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

My buddy has a 242x, same year as mine, with the really big bimini, and his clearly has to go under. It's not so clear on mine. And I can't find anything from Yamaha on how this is supposed to work. I tried to adjust the rear supports, but it takes quite a bit of force (literally two people...

2017 AR210 Bimini - rope contacting while towing

Ok, I've attached it above and below the bimini. It contacts it either way. If the rope is below the bimini, it mostly only contacts when I'm off of center behind the boat. Above the bimini and it contacts all the time, except off to the left or right. The best way I've found so far is to...

Has anyone removed the tower from their 2015 or newer AR240

Well I can now say that without removing the tower, my 2017 ar210 will not fit through my 6'10" garage opening. Removing the wheels and rolling the axles on floor jacks got me close. So did removing the Bimini cover and the mounting brackets from the tower and removing the stern light. But I...

Has anyone removed the tower from their 2015 or newer AR240

Here are pictures of both sides of the tower, and then the measurement at the windshield. My garage opening is actually 6'10". And with the tower removed, i think I can make it. It looks like maybe just remove the snap ring and drive the pin out - assuming that's how it works. I emailed...

Has anyone removed the tower from their 2015 or newer AR240

Do you have a link to someone removing the wheels and using casters? I was thinking of this too.

Has anyone removed the tower from their 2015 or newer AR240

Also curious about removing the tower to store the boat for the winter. On my 2017 AR210, I can get my windshield to 6'8" by lowering the front of the trailer onto a floor jack. I have removed the support cables from the tower to lower the tower below the windshield, but the base of the...
