10 Hour Service

How critical is it that the 10-hour service be done at 10 hours? We keep the boat on a lift at the lake and our closest service center is about an hour and 20 minutes away. The boat currently has 7 hours on it, do I need to pull it out and haul it in at 10 hours or can I wait until the end of summer when it has maybe 20 +- hours to have it done?

The 10 hour service is just an oil change and it’s at a really low hour. I wouldn’t take your boat out mid season to have it done. I think I did mine at 17 hours. Also, save your self $600+ and do the service yourself. Super easy.

imo, The rings are set when Yamaha runs it at the factory, The sooner you get the break in oil out the better.
I had the dealer do my 10 hr. @ 9.4 hrs.
I will change the oil and filter myself at 25 hrs. then go on a seasonal schedule depending on use.
My 10 hr inspection consisted of a compression check, impeller gap measurement, intermediate bearing inspection and a check list of safety stuff.
Dealer billed me 2.3 hours, parts and materials.

20 hours is fine.

I changed my oil at the 10 hour service and brought it to the dealer with around 20 hours and let them perform the remainder of the service items. I also had a list of factory oversight items for them to correct.
I would call your service center and arrange the service when it is convenient.

Thanks. I have a few warranty items they need to take care of, so I think I am just going to wait until the end of the season to have it all done at once. Would rather not have the boat tied up at the dealer for a couple of weeks during the summer.

I did mine at 18 hours the dealer didn't blink at it.
