Recently purchased a used 14 sx192. Handling is awsome but i feel the power is way down. Read a lot about upgrading to the svho intercooler with a cold air and ribbon delete. Found a 6hl-13670-00-00 on ebay, will this fit my engine? Any recommendations on cold air intake brands? Could something else be wrong with the boat? With 3 adults and one small child it was struggling to go 35 mph. We did have the bimini up.

In perfect conditions at sea level in stock form, your boat should hit 49 for at least a few min. If you can stand that speed after a few min then heat soak / hot inter cooler would slow it down from there.

Issues that would slow you down from stock speed are:

1 impeller damage
2 old spark plugs
3 too much oil backing up into air filter
4 throttle cable not adjusted correctly
5 sealant in tunnel that is loose
6 supercharger clutch failure
7 dirty hull

Searching this forum will answer how to diagnose and remedy these common issues.

And of course, chop, weight distribution inside the boat, wind, and having the top up can change the speed quite a bit in a 19’.
