Hello Board Members,

I took delivery of a 2015 Scarab 165 HO last week which was a demo with about 20 hours on it. Upon first launch of the boat, I idled for a bit while I familiarized myself with the controls and display and so on.

I applied light throttle so that the boat would come on plain and was getting a feel for it...about 30 MPH. Upon increasing the throttle, the Service Light came on and the boat went into limp mode. The code that came across the display was P0127 which from what I've found is an Air Intake Temp fault. The code and light would go away when the ignition was cycled, however would come back on under acceleration.

As this was my very first ride on an almost brand new boat, this was disappointing. Can anyone offer some advise or possible solutions if you've encountered the same problem?

Looks like a bad or disconnected MAF. Go into the engine bay, and look right behind the air filter. See if the wire connections are loose or disconnected. Look around the top of the engine, there is an orange plug that connects to your ecu. Make sure that is together.

Thanks! My dealer has indicated that they believe the problem to be a faulty Intake Temp Sensor. I'll check the MAF and other connectors when I'm up at the cottage this weekend.

Out of curiosity, what model engine is in this boat? I'm trying to find an online service manual and parts catalogue but am not sure what model it is.

Also, thanks for the welcome. I'n new to the jet boat community, but have been on sea-doos for 15 years. I also work in the service department at an Auto Dealership and so my technical knowledge is fair, and so I look forward to expanding it with all you seasoned veterans.

@Tyrone The engine is a rotax 1503HO if you have the 250hp version.

So, I check all the connections as described and everything seems very secure. When I spoke to the dealer, the suspected the Intake Air Temp Sensor on the intake manifold. They sent me a new one in the mail and I installed it, but I'm still having the same issue when the boat is under load, or is at full speed and high rpm...the service light will come on, limp mode for about 3-5 mins and then clear.

Any ideas / suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this thing seems to crap out just as the fun starts!

Hi Tyrone,
Did you ever get this issue resolved? I have the same issue and im starting to lose my mind.

No, I'm still having he same issue and it's so aggravating. Kinda ruining the new boat experience.

Hi Fellas! I have 2015 Glastron GTS 207 with the rotax 250. Picked the boat up from the dealer this weekend after paying for a pre season check up. Immediately after getting her started in the water the check engine light comes on. Checked coolant and oil... Levels are OK.
Boat runs and sounds fine but the messages comes up again and again under load?

P0127 is the Air Intake Temperature in the Intake Plenum (Post Intercooler) that is too high.
Most probably caused by an incorrect or kinked water supply hose in or out of the intercooler.

I'll check it out this weekend, let you know.

Thanks
