Hi, looking at purchasing a tow vehicle - will only be used for towing - 15 miles each way. Realize a truck would be best - but struggling to find a good low cost "tow pig". Just saw an 04 Sequoia with OEM tow package. Anyone hauled their 212 with one of these? Thanks.

6500 capacity , I would not hesitate at all. The 4.8 will be a little low on the torque and hp than the 5.7. The sequoia is on the same chasis as the tundra.

I pull my AR240 with a 4.7 dodge Ram. Works well. I only pull about 5 miles.

I pull with a 5.7 Tundra, but I pulled the first year with a Trailblazer, I was nearly maxing out the 5,000 capacity. So I’d think you’d be fine in the Sequoia.

Shouldn't be a problem at all - my Kia Sorento v6 is rated 5000lbs with the tow package and pulls the 212s just fine. The suspension is soft in the Kia and the factory tongue weight was over 400lbs, so I slid the axles as per the Shorelander manual to get the trailer properly balanced at 5% tongue weight (250lbs) and it rides level now. I usually only have to go 15 minutes to the ramp, but have towed it 60 miles and an hour away without any complaints. You know it's back there, but it pulls well and the surge brakes do an excellent job of stopping the trailer. My only complaint is the brake lights are not very bright during the day so I'll be swapping them out for LED's next spring.

That truck will be just fine. Plenty of power and heavy enough not to be pushed by the boat
