Has anyone ever seen anything like this video? 2011 SX210 port engine goes into limp mode and won’t go over 5000 rpms. I scanned it with YDS and got two codes (overheat warning and engine temp sensor) I also get the center light on the dash (I believe engine temp) but I don’t believe the engine is actually overheating.

While monitoring the readouts on YDS almost all readings (engine temp, battery voltage, intake air temp, oil pressure switch, engine stop lanyard..) started jumping all over the place as seen in the video.

Thanks for any help

I'd say it's a bad temp sensor.

@Jordan72G Forgetting the "jumping" for now, what are your engine temperatures?

I have the boat at the dealer now they said they checked the engine temps and they are all okay. They said all the temp sensors checked out good as well. The boat is not actually overheating.

They think it is and ECM however I do not because I swapped them before taking it to the dealer and the issues stayed with the port engine regardless of what ECM was on it.

@Jordan72G Take ir temp. readings below the exhaust manifold, as close to the block as possible in no wake mode.

Seeing as how all the readings were jumping around and you swapped ecu’s. Possibly a bad ground?

That’s what I’m leaning towards. I unplugged the connector to the ground block and it looked good but I was wishing I would have swapped the block itself to the other motor also before taking it to the dealer. I will talk to them today and see what they have to say.

Thanks for the help.
