Hi all. I keep seeing post about yamahas having multiple drain plugs? J can neve see what model and year they are talking about.. i am 99.9% sure my 2014 242 only has the one and i never have water to bilge out ever..but seeing so many posts about 2 plugs makes me ask..my boat is not near me to look under atm to confirm myself. Tx

On my sx190 there's a plug in the ski locker and one in the front of the engine area, they don't go to the outside but merely allow water to drain from elsewhere in the boat back to the bilge area

@Ronald - They are usually referring to the plugs inside the boat that stop water from moving from compartment to compartment. Those, I leave out, since I want the water to travel back to the bilge and get pumped out. I never want to trap the water and it never gets pumped out. As far as the drain plug (what is commonly referred to as Drain Plug), there is only 1 exterior drain plug at the lower transom location.

Thanks guys. Now i need check my interior plugs..i did notice last year that i got some trapped water around the lip of the ski locker, not the bottom.i always thought it was because the lift is slightly angled to the bow and it was normal carpet water dripping there from swimming etc.. thanks again guys

Actually, I am betting on yours that there are 3 internal and 1 external:

One in the ski locker at the aft. Two forward in the engine compartment (one facing aft; one facing down). Then the one at the aft transom.
