2014 fx svho timing chain

I got a 2014 fx svho crusier timing chain went at 255hrs we got it done and we couldn’t find the chain in the bottom of the engine we got magnets snd stuff and didn’t find anything we put almost and hour on it and nothing major happend just little stuff happend if i ran it for a hour would the timing chain already cycle through or would it work. will maybe the oil filter catch it?

Any debris should remain in oil pan ……the oil pump should have a screen on pick any large pieces wont enter pump to get to oil filter.

So you left the bottem end in the ski and just did the top end and chain and put together without getting the chain out?
There is no way I would have put it together without making sure I got all the broken pieces out. If you hit a bunch of rough waves or launch it that chain will bounce around and get caught up in the crank.
These engines don't have oil pans, just the bottem case half which doesn't have much room

There is no way I would have put it together without making sure I got all the broken pieces out. If you hit a bunch of rough waves or launch it that chain will bounce around and get caught up in the crank.

Do you mean the whole chain is in the bottom end or just possibly pieces?

My pulse returned to normal too, thought the whole chain had been left sloshing around. Glad it all worked out.
