2015 Yamaha 242/240 SiriusXM antenna?

I know this is an old thread but I am curious if you guys think the larger bimini top (frame mostly) on the E-Series would interrupt the Sirius XM signal should I mount it like Richard? Thank you for putting this information together for other folks like myself.

It should be able to "see" through the bimini (material) the frame shouldn't have an effect. Antennas don't like metal but wood, fiberglass, cloth will have a small effect but not total, it obviously depends on how thick the material is. I have successfully used an antenna for satellite comms thru the gunnel of a boat 1-2 " thick.

Awesome, thanks for the wisdom. I guess I will order one this weekend.
